more now from cbs news' wendy gillette. >> reporter: an investigation is under way on reunion islands morning where the 6-foot- long piece of an aircraft wing was found yesterday. sources tell cbs news the debris appears probable a boeing 777, the same model as the missing malaysia airlines flight 370. experts have identified it as a critical piece of the wing known as the flaperon which could be marked with valuable serial numbers. >> there will be markings that will tell boeing that it's from the boeing 777370. >> reporter: it's the first possible breakthrough in the search for the missing flight. the plane was flying from kuala lumpur to bay bridge in march 2014 when it vanished with 239 people on board. since the 777 was first introduced in 1994, the plane is the only one that has ever disappeared over the sea as well as south of the equator. >> this begins a search that in fact tells us that somewhere near this, potentially, we should find other bits and pieces of the aircraft. >> reporter: search teams have focused their efforts on a large area in the southern indian ocean off

wendy gellet reports from new york. >> reporter: one -- gillette reports from new york. >> reporter:n extensive network of surveillance cameras, joaquin el chapo guzman was able to break out of his prison cell saturday night. he es scawped through a -- he escaped through a hole dug under his shower. he escaped on a rusty motorcycle or a cart pushed 62 feet underground. there was a pipe, wires and lights running along the top of the tunnel. el chapo then climbed up this ladder reaching tree dom inside a small unfinished structure near the maximum security prison. he remains on the run despite a massive manhunt. security experts say this was an intricately devised escape that likely took more than a year to plan and build. buying a piece of land, constructing the building in the middle of the field, and then digging the tunnel. they say it's obvious there was inside help and three prison officials have been fired. wendy gillette for cbs news. >> he first escaped from prison back in 2001, he was on the run for 13 years before he was recaptured back in february of 2014. >>> jurors will h
