what we found is not what we expected. many of us expected to find, out there in the middle of this crater that once held a lake, we expected sedimentary rocks deposited in that lake. instead, we found igneous rocks, rocks crystallized from a melt, suggesting a history more complicated than we expected. the crater not only held a lake at one point, but likely prior to that, it had active volcanism and possibly a lava lake filling the crater. there is complexity there we had not expected. we acquired excellent samples of the igneous rocks and this is an example of why diversity is important. the igneous rocks will tell us a lot about the early history of a rocky planet, mars. in addition one of the key things and igneous rock returned to earth will allow us to do is for the first time put a age on the surface of mars. this is something we infer indirectly at present. it will be important to get quantitative estimates of age on return igneous rocks. after we finished the crater floor campaign, we drove quickly in an arc arou

we have to be cautious, even if we are bullish. guy: is the bond market dictating what equity should be doing, particularly the front end of the curve? it is the equity market listening? jc: absolutely. we all know the saying the bond market is always right. whether that is true or not i believe it is vital. if you are an equity investor, we need to pay close attention to the front end of the yield curve, specifically to year yields. they are very tied what the fed is thinking and doing that if you take 40 or 50 years and you look at the peaks in the two-year yield, what we found was the front end was what the target was by 150 days. it is a leading indicator to what the fed are planning on doing. when the equities see that the two-year is rolling over -- it broke out yesterday -- when that rolls over, historically, that is when equities thrive. yes, investors should pay close attention to the two year. it is difficult with those moving higher as well. alix: what is the top end? what is the chart telling you? jc: we look at the ter
