the shooting was at about 8:00 last night on the platform here at the west oakland station. confrontation started when bart police officers told this man who was smoking on the platform to put out his cigarette. officers say he then threatened to jump in front of an oncoming train. there was some kind of a struggle at that point and then when this man reached for something in his waist, officers tased him. bart says the man then shot himself in the stomach as he grabbed that gun. witness to the shooting posted a video on social media and said in the comments that after that single shot was fired, he heard this man who was on the ground yell they shot me. the witness then heard one of the officers yell back, he shot himself. bart closed the station to investigate the shooting. it did reopen just before midnight. so all the trains running this morning and we should tell you that the officers involved in this confrontation were wearing body cameras and obviously that footage will be critical in this investigation, dave. >> all right. alex savidge, we'll be checking back with yo

buses had been taking passengers between west oakland and san francisco. b.a.r.t. closed the tube friday night to make some much needed repairs to the 40-year-old system. >> we're replacing over 13,000 feet of rail in the transbay tube and rebuilding a key piece of track right outside the west oakland station. >> once the work is complete, b.a.r.t. says the ride will be smoother, quieter, and safer. so let's check out the temporary transbay bus terminal in san francisco where b.a.r.t.'s bus bridge is picking up and dropping off passengers. b.a.r.t. says it has 77 buses hauling passengers across the bridge. >>> san francisco police are investigating what they call a hate crime. anti-chinese graffiti. these slogans appeared in the bayview and portola districts over the weekend. this one on university street is one of at least five spots where the same slogan was painted in what appears to be the same handwriting and same color. this morning somebody had already painted over it. police are checking to see if there's any surveillance video that shows just who did this.
