>> eric, we're at westbound highway 4 connecting on to westbound 80 toward oakland.ck out this enormous eucalyptus tree that came crashing down. couldn't handle the moisture and the wind a second longer. today it came falling here on to the highway. the chp actually cleared this out pretty quickly. check out these pictures we took just about 15 minutes ago. you can see what an impact the tree truly had on the highway lanes. now, right when it came down, of course, all these cars had no idea it was coming. six of them ended up cashing in one way or another, either into the treat, into each other, quite a chain reaction as everyone reacted to this tree crashing down on to the highway. no injuries and the damage to the cars pretty minor. they towed a couple of them away. others were able to drive out of here. but it must have been quite scary to see this huge tree flying down on to the highway with people trying to head on their way. the officers and the firefighters were out here with chain saws, all of them working as quickly as they could to trim back these limbs and
