so westbound 80 is pretty heavy. once you get past the accident though it looks like speed sensors improve as you get closer towards emeryville and the macarthur maze. 580 slow this morning, look at that, a long line of red sensors, speeds under 25 miles per hour. once you get past vasco road it will be a little after there the speeds sensors turn back to grown and starts to improve and then we have a new accident now just past the dublin interchange. westbound 580 by foothill, one lane is blocked there. that was a solo car crash blocking the slow lane so there's a few tapping of the brake lights before you get to the accident. here's a look down the eastshore freeway. the drive time is almost a half hour now obviously the accident in berkeley isn't helping the morning commute there. westbound 580 has been busy all morning especially out of tracy. and the nimitz 880 in oakland, that is our bright spot, so far looks good. but usually around 8:00 is when we start to see delays here. let's go outside show you a couple o

the good news is that we're gonna reconstruct those ramps -- new westbound on and off ram /-pbls. in front of your screen you'll see the blue colored off ramp is the new off ramp on the right side of the bridge, standard in terms of geometry and the new onramp will be in orange, a hook type onramp which will increase the acceleration distance to be able to merge more safely on to the bay bridge. this is separate and independent of the san francisco bay bridge. there's no high strength bolts or anything in that regard related to this project. this is more stop sign /tkard construction. construction phase is funded with [inaudible] programs to the tune of 77.5 million dollars. project also inchose some improvements on [inaudible] road to make it much better and accommodate bike and pedestrian traffic. current status is i'm happy to report we finished and completed the plans, specks and estimates in march of 2013. i was here in front of this same committee in that same timeframe requesting authorizations to execute right of way certification documents and we have done that. we have s

it's that westbound 80 commute. it's due to a crash.lly several crashes up to three different crashes on westbound 80 coming into crockett and traffic is stacked up over the carquinez bridge. in fact, drive time is now up to 42 minutes. so once you get past hercules, we see some improvement out towards the macarthur maze but it's really a bottleneck. chopper 5 is flying over that a little earlier. westbound 580 busy this morning through the livermore valley. so stay off the roads if you can. muni will be offering extra service. caltrain is going to step up as much as they can and ac transit is also going to offer extra transbay bus service from downtown oakland into the city. let's go towards the bay bridge. i believe we have a shot of the bay bridge this morning and the metering lights were turned on about a half hour early. so we are seeing delays in all lanes now. they have fastrak lanes breaking up past the pay gates but traffic actually improves once you get past the metering lights. so that's great news. all the approaches to the

westbound 580 approaching north flynn.nd as you can see, we have a good long line of brake lights coming behind it. it's slow from 205 out of tracy continuing. once you get past the north flynn exit, then we see speeds improve dramatically but the drive time is up to 15 minutes. that's a good delay, 15 minutes between the altamont pass and the dublin interchange. our other slower spot is the bay bridge toll plaza. it looks like more commuters this morning at this time are trying to get a head start beat the gridlock we saw yesterday. so the delays are longer than yesterday at this time of the morning. just in those cash lanes. the fastrak users the typical commuters who do this every morning, they know the drill and they are getting by okay. the folks that maybe usually use bart are getting stuck in the minor backups for now. but unfortunately, the delays are growing. they have not turned the metering lights on yet. let's get a look at the san mateo bridge. it's a great alternate if the bay bridge gets busy. lawrence has w
