and it's 712 miles south of the phoenix metro so well away from landfall in western mexico. and quickly gains strength over the sierra madre mountains. we're talking an area of low pressure. the remnants of what is currently hurricane newton. so we're not going to see a tropical storm move in but rather the remnants and a boost in the moisture. and all of that combined is going to give us the higher storm chances over the next 24 to 48 hours. so starting this morning, all clear in the and across the state. by this afternoon, we'll watch the storms developing across southeast arizona. and then as we go into tonight, the storms down to the southeast become more widespread. and even though future cast is not picking up on the rain in the valley. i think there's a good chance we'll see more showers in the phoenix metro. and then a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms through the day in the valley tomorrow. the best potential overall looks to be in southeast arizona. but keep in mind if there's any slight shift to the east of the west. that could drastically change the
