take look right now at our wildwood boardwalk cameras. we take look.esolate out here on the boardwalk. of course it is the middle of winter but this is the time every year where businesses and residents all along here on the boardwalk get ready for the summer season. but this weekend, i can guarantee you not a whole lot of work is going to be being done. take a look at preparations, yeah, people here getting the sand bags ready for what could be to moderate to major coastal flooding. they are bracing for tropical storm force winds with interests down here at the shore, they are being advised to have a plan together like pull your boat from the water. beach erosion. also, going to be an issue. one beach in particular down in north wildwood got hit so hard last year the army corps of engineers just started a $9 million sea wall project. but here's the problem. it won't be finished to protect it from this storm. >> i just feel for the people that have to live in lower areas but it's the choice they've made. i mean they adapt and live with it it's the best

reporter: with yet another coastal storm threatening the jersey shore, growing worries in north wildwood. >> we're a bit nervous. it looks like we lost a lot of our beach. >> reporter: today urgent effort to shore up a highly vulnerable spot between 6th and 7th avenues, just south of where the bulkhead ends. >> we do have some concern where this storm could get ahead of us. >> the area took a beating from last week's nor'easter. >> if the storm gets through the do you know system where we don't have a bulkhead, there's really nothing protecting the infrastructure. >> reporter: in cumberland county, emergency work to keep it away from the historic and just restored eastpoint lighthouse. >> the next step is basically nothing. >> reporter: the previous storm caused a bay to breach, sending water within feet of the second older lighthouse. >> the only thing left to hit is the foundation of the lighthouse. >> reporter: a form larger berm was built in december, in the hopes it would stay in place, but it only lasted like six weeks. >> a long-term fix is planned, but it won't come quickly enoug

the jersey shore numbers were at 40 degrees in wildwood and avalon.e for -- township as well and 42 the reading in may have landing. because of winds, it will feel a little cooler, more like where we actually are right now. the low 40s. forecast wind for today. this is the culprit behind that windchill effect. right around 20, 25 miles per hour for the peak sustained winds. notice, they're coming from the northwest which is helping to keep us on the cooler side. gusts 25 to 35 miles per hour. especially this afternoon. again, we're talking a windy day. good news is, not as windy as yesterday and certainly not as windy as friday. we're taking this with a grain of salt because of the wind that we'll feel 5 to 10 degrees cooler. the actual temperatures, 46 in philly. 44 in the lehigh valley and 46 at the jersey shore. with the mix of clouds and sun, leading to mostly sunny by late in the day. like yesterday. late in the day, around sunset, really pretty amount of sunshine. it was a beautiful, beautiful sunset wherever you were. all right. let's do t talk

tomorrow afternoon for the ride home, winds of 50 miles per hour at wildwood. 45 mile-per-hour guststrees bringing down -- causing power outages. it will likely impact roadways, as well. the winds will continue into any evening. the flood threat is going to be increasing at the shore. the heaviest rain comes in tonight and into tomorrow morning. we'll get rain during the day tomorrow, as well. the damaging winds as we saw tomorrow afternoon and into into tomorrow night. the coastal flood threat as we see hours and hours of winds at the shore, that will be ramping up with the high tide saturday morning. there could be problems by saturday evening. the weekend will see improvement after winds on saturday leading to the coastal flood threat for the jersey shore and the delaware beaches. 46 degrees the high at the shore. no sign of warm weather this weekend. sunday will see the most improvement with partly sunny to mostly sunny skies and afternoon temperatures in the 40s. march is definitely coming in like a lion. we'll look at when things will turn nicer with the ten day on 10 coming up
