and i got it at a great woodworking store. it's adjustable. i drilled and mounted it to a block of oak so it's adjustable off of a front vise. turgeon: i'll tell you what. it's very versatile as far as being able to get -to all four sides easily. -phillips: mm-hmm. turgeon: okay, what you do is you'll start at the tip. you run that 45-degree angle in an upward motion. phillips: and what's the file again? turgeon: this is a nicholson #50. phillips: you know, the imported files just don't work. not like this. turgeon: no. no, this is a very nice tool. and then you can also -- because of the vise, you can stand, you can move your body around to do the same job on the other side. okay. phillips: keep in mind this is what he's working for -- a fluid curve. turgeon: a lot of adjustment. try to work within 6 inches of your vise at all times. after that, if i'm working out here, i'm wasting strokes. i'm wasting energy. you can see how nice this cuts. you see the cutting right through the bamboo in a nice, even -- if you're practiced, you'll find that
