today insurance commissioner ricardo lara gave an update on the total insured losses from the camp, woolsey and hill fires.. saying the numbers increased by about 25- percent from an already expensive evaluation last month. lara says the totals are now at 11.4 billion dollars, with the deadly fire in paradise accounting for more than 8 billion of that. the numbers rose from the preliminary report in december, showing total insured damages at 9 billion. <"we're going to continue to see uptick in the fire losses. this is just for insured, obviously calfire's numbers have uninsured properties, big structural stuff, so we're also monitoring all those issues as well,">(ken) lara says insurance companies have paid out about half of the 12-billion dollars from 20-18 damages, and he is anticipating more payments to come. we will get another update on the numbers in april.
