at our workshop in september we had one participant and in january 15th and 20. and it's great to see people in the know about the opportunities out there. our workshop in april and september were coordinated and i will go over that with the next slide and these are a couple of examples of events as a home ownership presence. and then those are the two open houses that we had at the welcome center and those are part of the more targeted bmr targeting. so this is our more targeted bmr targeting an i think it's great, this is a project of some great magnitude and been really great to work with moh and oci eshs and their marketing that they do. so we ended up doing hybrid program that does more of the ddda and together combined the work they do really well in being able to target the information and the lead time which is what the dd a really stressed. we did a hundred for the lottery outlined and the second mailer to answer this moh inclusionary housing manual which stresses this and we were able to do that. this is more general outreach. we have a great partnershi

we came up with the idea of looking to initiate programs and trainings and workshops on implicit bias and associations explaining what they are to city leaders and department heads and looking for ways to address those biases and understand how to make decisions that are free of bias, and i spoke to the mayor about this proposal and he recommended that i speak with mickey callahan who directs the department of human resources and get them on board and i did that and resulted in a program between the human rights commission and the mayor's office and others and presented proposals and chose kimberly tappian who is a well respected and experienced presenter on this topic. yesterday we held our first of three trainings, three workshops we're going to be holding, and i believe that all of the participants found it to be useful. they were department heads selected by the mayor to engage in this training and the training was on how unconscious reactions and thoughts affect management and leadership style, how to recognize implicitly associations with gender and socio-economic status and fea

i am vice president of delores association and work with the workshop in 2011. as you know rec and park plans to open up the renovated part very soon and what you don't know and should concern you as much as it does us it has no maintenance plan and reviewses apparently to develop one and submit one to the public. in your packet which i hope has been distributed are two letter and supporting documents i emailed to you last friday regarding this and related delores park issues. i ask that you please read them and take the appropriate action. in august 2011 the renovation workshop approved a resolution requesting that the commission direct staff to immediately develop a maintenance plan for delores park, a resolution signed by me and andrew solo and certified by the workshop facilitator as well as a later request to staff were simply ignored and now we hear from staff there is no maintenance plans, no maintenance schedule for delores park or the north field. rec and park is spending over $20 million in delores park's first real makeover since the founding in 1905.

we have ongoing workshops. we have packets, everything you can think of and how to ask for more or less work so i think we have those students. now the other students that i am talking about and we're excited to expand out for the project labor internship they have the same services in the summer, but they don't have the follow through during the school year, so it's episodic for the pla kids that come out of the different high schools but we have the same services so they have that orientation. they have those workshops. we make sure that they fill out time sheets and those employers are supported just as well. we spend a lot of time developing the work, the work base learning rotation for the summer so muni and darlene they sit down and work out what the opportunities are doing when they visit two days a week and it's based on curriculum and a plan. we don't wing it. >> if i can follow up for a minute when you say the students -- it's because we don't have a academy. >> right. >> and other students are going

we had difficulty finding space to host the conference where we can have ten workshops happening at four different times throughout the day for each of those sessions and so in the past we had used city sf state downtown campus. they closed one of they are floors. so city college campus was able to accommodate us on a friday. this will be a change for us to do it on a friday but i think very important. i will send you out the finalized list of conferences and we have some very exciting new things for the conference this year. we are also kind of targeting to have our conference to have a little bit more direction towards existing businesses and not just start up businesses. so that's exciting. then after that we will have a small business conference happy hour in the lobby and ending the week again with sidewalk sales. so, that is the big thing for the office. i do want to announce that carol chung that has officially started her position as the business counselor prince george's -- prince -- working in the office, her first day was march 30th. so, i will have her come to the next commis
