meteorologist wyatt everhart. wyatt, where is that rain? >> there's showers in southeastern maryland. where the temperatures are not that cold, but things will change as we go into the early morning. most of the rain activity southeastern maryland. most of the below freezing air northwestern maryland. right on that boundary there is icy shower activity and it's through saturday morning. you can see where the freeze line is. baltimore at the freezing mark. eastern shore -- but as we go north and west toward frederick, the reports were at freezing level. so any showers that came down are likely to produce ice. to the south and west, you see there is more rain developing in the gulf. that will move up the coast into daybreak. we can get another round before it all goes to rain. again, looking for the possibility of icy conditions before we change the rain. we'll talk more about this. that's straight ahead. >>> it's friday. you just want to get home. >> mike masco has a check on the road conditions. how is it looking? >> it looks pretty good. g

chief meteorologist wyatt everhart starts us off. >> i think it's mostly quiet for maryland tonight. two keytime frames of concern tonight into early tomorrow morning and then tomorrow night and two key storms on the board. one is the low pressure area over new england and our secondary, our main focus is this coastal system coming from texas moving up the gulf coast now a tremendous amount f o' moisture as this system moves into maryland. it will bring rain. you can see a few showers creeping into southern maryland. temperatures just a few degrees above freezing. we could see sleet and snow mixed in with with the rain in the morning. we'll call them mixed showers to start your day in the morning. then we're going to rain through the middle part of the day. then past 4:00, windy, rainy conditions turning back to snow particularly for areas to the north and northeast of brm. cecil through harford could get a decent amount of snow. >> so maybe you don't have to stock up on the shovels and snow blowers but the weather is going to have an impact on us. especially if you have travel mrans

we want to head over to chief meteorologist, wyatt everhart, in the most accurate storm center. we're not getting boston weather here? >> no way. boston really is the center point for who is going to get hit the hardest. here in baltimore, we're just talking about some wintry showers through the rest of the evening. temperatures have been safely above freezing through the day, so as a result, even the showers we do see over the next few years won't stick very well at all. as a result, the only county we have in the state in our viewing area with a winter weather advisory is cecil county. the elkton area, you have a possibility of picking up an inch or two. other than that, it's wind or rain. we have wind advisories up for much of maryland, coastal warnings up the delaware coast as well, because of the wind of this powerful storm. two storms merging together. now that storm system is ramping up offshore. it's going to send a huge wall of snow into new england. we'll have much more on the storm, straight ahead. >>> well, this storm may not dump a ton of snow on our area, hopefully
