. >> the meeting for may 17, commissioner yee? >> i want to readdress one of them which is the -- what we want to put on the ballot for novet. and the other -- the second one is development strategies, 1950's mission feath and this was the -- given us to. there was some recommendations that we might to follow. i think there are general con sen -- consensus. and a lot of this discussion was centered around the bhole teacher housing piece that we would -- but we wanted to see if it was practical or not in terms of the regulations that we have to follow. the other item that we -- i dressed was potentially november 2011. so besides the school bond, there was the -- there was -- brought to our attention that there is a city bond measures. she would look at road repainting and safety bonds which we wanted to make sure that -- of that especially with the bobbed up. there's going to be a proposition for quality neighborhood schools or something. i can't even read my own handwriting. but basically, the only reason we've discussed that one

commissioner yee? i am sorry. this was the resolution of the board of education ordering an election to authorize general obligation bonds, is publishing specifications of the election order. -- establishing specifications of the election order. vice president yee: we had discussions of what it would do, and also had a discussion of our earlier bonds and what that has done. for this particular bond measure, the total amount would be $531 million. that would work on 52 sites, completing the work for the district. we have had two major bond measures prior to this. we have also, in addition to the elementary schools, high school sites, and middle school sites, there will be certain early education sites we will be working on. we will be adding into this funding to green our schoolyards. the other thing would be that there is funding in their to rebuild, and to also look at the cost of building a new school in the mission bay area. president mendoza: thanks so much. we now need a reading of the resolution by our chief

vice president yee: i am thinking. i really want to thank pps and pac for what you had to go through. some people are so passionate about their opinions that they forget you are not really part of the school district, officially. they were yelling at them. but the fact is we are moving in a direction, or could be moving in a direction, where we are asking for changes. the e-mails that i have been getting -- they are not 100% one way or another. there is a mixture of people responding to the theater system. usually, people right e-mails -- write e-mails when they want somebody -- one something rather than when they are agreeing with somebody. compliments are hard to come by. i agree with the commissioner and that through the six or seven years i have been on the school board one of the things many people have said is they want predictability. in fact, we started this whole discussion about the enrollment process and a feeder pattern as a way to provide some predictability. most of us thought that could be a good idea to

vice president yee: the people in rolling in kindergarten decided there were not going to neighborhood schools. the point here is that it is really hard for us to sit here and get a real good gauge of what is going on, because the people that come are certainly expressing what they want, but there is always that underlining bunch of people that i am not too sure what they want. the other thing i wanted to say is that i am inclined to at least try this, mainly because i have seen from my history in the school district as a parent, and even prior to being a parent -- if you look at the schools, i have told the story quite a few times. when my older daughter first decided -- when i decided shoe is going to a program, -- whe was going to a program, they were begging for anybody to show up in the classroom. i found out later, when we were accepted, that the school was not even fall. it was probably two-thirds full. two years back, it was only half full. what happened? by the time my other daughter joined, three years later, people were fighting to get into that school. something changed abo
