yee, regarding early education.an to provide more access to early education programs in san francisco and how do you plan to fund this? >> good question. this is the field that i came from, early education. i started to preach for all programing in san francisco and, in fact i have done a couple of things since being a supervisor. one, i have worked with the developers to increase the development fee for child-care and all of them agree that it's okay to add the residential development. so that is going to give us additional funding. i'm having some propositions/legislation right now that is going through the process of creating the counterpart, or companion piece for preschool which is really the infant/toddler early learning scholar fund. which are create a program to increase the number of babies that can be taken care of in san francisco. and as i work with the san francisco giants and mission rocks development and 5m both agreed to put additional child-care space for people to use. >> when i was going to public

supervisor yee. >> thank you chair peskin. i just want to say this is actually exciting to be at this hearing today. i was actually had the privilege of taking part in some of the earlier discussions i believe in late 70's or 80's in terms of the visions of the gardens itself and wanting to you know serve the greater community, and yet be able to serve the immediate neighborhoods in particularly with the child care center that was conceptualized. sometimes that gets left out but to the credit of the staff of the redevelopment agency at the time they were very open to a very broad vision and actually had a lot of community input into the process and the fact that we could have easily had a center or a gardens which was more adult centric says a lot to those people early on you know there's a lot of children. we need to do something for our youth. let's put a bowling alley in there. let's put a child care center in there and a ice skating rink when in fact both ice skating rinks and bowling alleys at the time were disappearing a
