[applause] nicole: breaking news this morning. donald trump declares a new chapter of american greatness and us to jumpstart the economy with tax cuts, infrastructure spending and health care rorm. good morning. i'm nicole petallides. reaction and analysis of the president's address. lauren: good morning. lauren simonetti. a positive response to the speech. now that's 80 points. nasdaq teachers higher by 26. >> another record on wall street. stocks in japan rose after the president beach on the positive economic news as well. the nikkei in japan up 1.4%. shanghai composite index up one 10th of 1%. lauren: 5:31 a.m. in new york. happy march. welcome to "fbn:am," your first look at morning markets and breaking news. nicole: president donald trump laid out his ambitious agenda and his first address to a joint session of congress. the president says everything broken in our country can be fixed. here are the highlights from his speech last night. >> i am also calling on this congress to repeal and replace obamacare. mandating every american to die approved health insurance was never the right solution for our country. the way to make health insurance available to everyone is to lower the cost of health insurance and that is what we are going to do. i am sending congress a budget that rebuilds the military, eliminates defensive cluster in costs for one of the largest increases in national defense spending in american history. my budget will also increase funding for veterans. our veterans have delivered for this nation and now we must deliver for them. we will soon begin the construction of a great, great blog along our southern border. too many in congress who do not believe we should enforce our laws, i would ask you this one question. what would you say to the american family that loses their jobs, their income with the above flood because america refused to uphold the laws and defend its borders. the economic team is developing historic tax reform that will reduce the tax break on our company so they can compete and thrive anywhere and with anyone. it will be a big, big cut. at the same time, we will provide massive tax relief for the middle class. we must create a level playing field for american companies and their workers. at home and abroad, we must restart the engine of the american economy, making it easier for come face to do business in the united states and much, much harder for companies to leave our country. we strongly support nato. our partners must meet their financial obligations. and now, based on our very strong and frank discussion, they are beginning to do just that. in fact, i can tell you the money is pouring in. i am asking everyone watching tonight, to seize this moment, believe in yourselves, believe in your future thank you. god bless you and god bless the united states. [cheers and applause] nicole: it's okay. you can apply that to once again. after the big speech, the president is told in the house and senate leadership lunch at the white house today. certainly brought optimism to investors a dow futures up 80 points right now. you can watch the blood on the quarter of the screen because it could be another record in wall street. nicole: gadhafi 950 points in february. let's talk about the speech last night. kristen tate, a contributor for the hill joining us now. ted cruz cled the speech bo and positive. chris wallace had his best speech at. >> it was a huge night for tribe. i give them an a+ on this. use bold, strong and presidential. but then he really said in the speech was controversial. it should not been controversial. he spoke about different topics, but the main common theme is america first. there shouldn't be anything controversial about putting a native american citizens before before the need of foreigners. that's what propelled him to the campaign and i think he delivered that message last night in a way that is palatable to people outside his base. nicole: i was thinking that pay the people who love trump will love him regardless they like his policy ideas. some of the moderates or people are more cautious whether they change their ideas and you can answer that. i think he also an addition to staying on point state of the teleprompter hit the heart. he tries so hard to make himself real with everything from navy seals to immigration talking about those who give positive and productive not against immigrants. >> exactly. a lot of people who've been a little bit scared of trump were not necessarily scared of his policy but the way he communicates. this kind of bombastic and bold. that's why his supporters love him, but it does terrify some folks. last night we saw a triumph it seemed really focus in a less specific about a lot of policies. that's another thing that other people were waiting for. do you think it is easy and nice back about 40 days into this presidency to reset the dialogue, to reset somewhat of an awkward relationship he's had with staffing controversies with the media? is that his present moment? >> it was. he was also trying to unify the country. in several cases extended an olive branch. but he spoke about obamacare committee called for bipartisan effort to fix our health care system and to get better, more flexible higher-quality health care for all americans. last night we saw him reaching across the aisle and i think i was one of the reasons it was such a successful thing. lauren: less members of congress not extend a hand to him. >> about as despicable the way democrats in the audience were reacting to trump. in some cases result in giving him the thumbs down when he was talking about improving health care. in some cases they were booing. they left early. they didn't apply. they were acting like immature schoolchildren. i'm not even talking about high schoolers. they're acting that junior high schoolers. it was despicable to see. if we want to get things done in washington, ready to work together. as together. as much as they despise trump, they've got to get this immature response. nicole: but should investors take away from present trend speech last night? peter tran 11 joining us now. a lot of optimism after the speech. the markets going higher. the economy going forward and the president trumps policy. >> now we have to see him put a speech of those enterprise is. we need to see the details of the health care program. to lower health insurance costs, government subsidies which is what we have right now are to get the prices down through more competition and more competition is in possible by benchmarking american prices to those available in germany. germany has a private insurance system and folks over there pay a lot less for prescription drugs than we do. he's got to show us how it's going to get this done. unfortunately, the white house is run by campaign staff. we need to restructure and that's in the direction of competent policy analysis and policy prescriptions. let's see what the tax plan looks like on health insurance program looks like. real, tangible and doable. then, the market will continue to be a portraiture tree. the fundamentals are very, very positive. >> not to mention a $1 trillion infrastructure program. tax cuts upon the curriculum in place, infrastructure spending every going to see gdp growth is sustained 3% or more? >> certainly not this year because it takes time to put things in place. mnuchin has put in place by a tax program by august. he still can't change the way people behave. we will see if the economy springs upward in 2018 -- excuse me 2018 osprey. and from there. we need to be patient. immediately, investors are going to look for a tax plan that score as well. for example, the plan developing in the house with border tax adjustments has a very sensible way of leveling the playing field, bringing practices used abroad at home to make american products competitive in lowering rates. domestic interests don't like that. there's always a domestic interest. americans including wal-mart and others need to be less selfish. nicole: one second. yes or no for a march rate hike. >> now. nicole: peter tran 11, thank you for the outlook of positivity for 2018. >> take care. lauren: steube sheraton in response to president trumps address last night. >> he started rolling back rules that provide oversight of the financial industry and safeguard us against another national economic meltdown. does the affordable care act needs some repairs? sure it does. so far, ever republican idea to replace the affordle care act would reduce the number of americans covered despite your promises to the contrary. i know that protecting america is a president highest duty. yet president trump is ignoring serious threats to our national security from russia is not our friend. when the president attacks are loyalty and credibility of our intelligence agencies, the chorus instead, the military, the free press, individual americans simply because he doesn't like what they say, he is eroding our democracy and that's reckless. lauren: 72-year-old former governor best known for health care than as obamacare. nicole: president trump lays out an ambitious agenda and promises a revival. >> we've undertaken an historic effort to massively reduce job crushing regulations, creating a deregulation task force inside of every government agency.
