zynga's biggest investment omg pop isn't paying off. zin zynga is writing off about $95 million.m social games on the desk top to mobile games. new games like chefville and e the ville are drawing fewer than 500 million gamers. this is hitting facebook stock as well. facebook shares are trading down more than 2.5% since zynga was responsible for half of their payments. according ing ting to jpmorgan claire lowered their estimate. mark pinkus wrote a blog indicating he'll slash jobs in underperforming areas as the company shifts its focus more to mobile games but said mobile is the future. mobile is a much more competitive landscape. >> more competitive and left profitable at least for now. we'll continue to watch it. unbelievable story at zynga. >> in a statement on the jobs report this morning, governor mitt romney said this is not what a real recovery looks like. we're going to hear more from the governor later this hour as he speaks in virginia. in the meantime we're joined by romney economic adviser, ceo of cke restaurants which employs about 120,000. andy, good morning. good

zynga shares are trading at new all-time lows.ore than 20% earlier today, though they have bounced back a bit. the problem here is that users are shifting away from social games to mobile apps and new titles like chefville and the 'ville are falling short of expectations. they've even pushed into mobile games but it's costly. they're writing off between 85 million and $95 million associated with that acquisition. because facebook drew 14% of its revenue from zynga in the first half of the year, this news today sent facebook's stock down over 2%. analysts have all lowered their estimates for facebook's payments revenue based on zynga's warning. in a blog, ceo mark pinkus wrote about zynga's potential in online games, but he acknowledged he needs to do some cuts. >> thank you so much, julia. before we get to robert frank, let's point out the dow jones industrial average has now gone negative in the session. the boost we saw from the jobs report earlier has completely disappeared. all right. julia was just telling you what's going on

i guess they get about 14, 15% of their income from zynga, but zynga hasn't been selling so well. is it becoming a drag that they're going to have to cut loose? >> yes. they need to diversify away from zynga, and that's -- zynga is suffering, and they have the same problem with mobile and kind of move away from their desktops. david: are you recommending that they actually cut the chord, that they sell off zynga or sell off the relationship with them? >> no, i'm not recommending that, i'm just saying that they need to add, diversify their base, get more games on the platform and just not depend totally on zynga. that's the key at this point. they, basically, need to move away from that and twersfy. which they are. i have to see what percentage of revenue was from zynga, but i think overall they are moving away, they're adding new apps, new gains on the platform -- david: by the way, since you've been talking them up, look what's happened to the bid after hours, not only a moderation, but for a moment it ticked above, a little bit above -- >> yeah, a good case of seller news, good

zynga has struggled to follow up its early success with games like farmville. it said it will focus on casino- style games. the bulk of zynga's sales come through players accessing its games on facebook. and facebook shares were down 4.7 percent although volume was a little lighter than usual. as for video game retailer game stop, it's shares bounced 3.2 percent. the stock sold off last month but pre-orders for nintendo's wii 2 video game console have been strong, helping improve the outlook for the video game business during the holidays. a couple of very different drinks stocks were moving in opposite directions. first, coffee roaster green mountain. it's best known for its single serve brewers. and with more competition coming to market, the stock continues struggling. shares fell 6.4 percent, taking them down to their lowest price since early august. later this month, two-thirds of wal-mart stores will stock a competitors machine that makes both hot and cold drinks. constellation brands makes its money not from coffee but from liquor and wine. shares are at

let's start out with zynga. a big winner and big loser. zynga is up 14%. people didn't anticipate too much from zynga. everybody knows the popular game farmville but they saw surging results and announced a share buyback program. good day for zynga panelists think they have and challenging environment. their output is disappointing, coming and with quarterly numbers. stock is down 20%, a new 52 week low and this is a stock that is soaring in 2007 but back today. melissa: initial jobless claims report indicates 369,000 people filed for first-time benefits last week. is this an indication how challenging the recovery is? peter barnes has more on this. peter: that number came in as expected but it shows the labor markets continued to struggle. will be a grind out to get the unemployment rate down but we did see this week without this volatility that has been kicking up some dust in the last month or so. claims were down sharply last week after ups and downs and those ups and downs were coming out of california which denied any problems in processing its claim
