I use Opus myself, but tossing out MP3 in favor of it? That's a ridiculous request. EVERYTHING supports MP3, and MP3 is now an open format (the last patent on it expired last year). Only Linux and Android systems support Opus. For usability and availability alone, you have to leave MP3 in place for at least several years.
