because servers are not free. we're happy to archive materials in danger. there is no way were can mirror youtube unless you want to fund petabytes of storage.

I'm starting to think you're avoiding the other question at this point, you've been very responsive up til now but I pressed the issue twice and you didn't respond and then I waited an entire week for a response and you still didn't respond.

If you don't have a good answer, just say so...

That doesn't answer my question at all.

If they don't want people uploading stuff that doesn't belong to them or isn't in imminent danger of being deleted, why even bother having a public upload system?

So you're just going to add nothing to the conversation by parroting sentiments mentioned earlier in the thread that are the entire reason I asked in the first place while refusing to answer the actual question asked.

Seriously?

Understandable but you didn't answer my other question.

You have a free to use uploader available to the public to begin with, why even offer such a feature?

Let me rephrase my question: What would the difference be between someone hypothetically archiving their own channel, one that's let's say, probably not even larger than a couple of terrabytes, by downloading it and uploading it here and someone using a hypothetical feature that lets them mirror without needing to download?
