Forum: forums Subject: Suggestion for a New Feature: RSS Feeds for Wayback Machine Archives

Dear Internet Archive Team,

I hope this message finds you well. First, I want to thank you for the incredible work you do with the Wayback Machine. It has become an invaluable resource for preserving and accessing the web's history.

I would like to suggest a new feature that I believe could enhance the utility of the Wayback Machine for researchers, archivists, and everyday users: the ability to generate RSS feeds for newly archived pages of specific websites.

Why This Feature is Useful
1- Automated Monitoring: RSS feeds would allow users to automate the tracking of new snapshots added to the archive for selected domains. This is particularly useful for researchers and digital historians who want to keep up with the archiving of evolving web content.
2- Improved Accessibility: With RSS, users can integrate updates directly into their preferred feed readers, enabling a seamless way to stay informed without manually checking the Wayback Machine.
3- Enhanced Engagement: This feature could attract new users to the Wayback Machine, as it makes the archive more interactive and dynamic for those interested in long-term web monitoring.

Potential Implementation
- Each domain or URL monitored in the Wayback Machine could have an associated RSS feed that provides: The date of the new snapshot ; A link to the archived page ; The original URL and metadata (e.g., title, description).
- This could be integrated into the existing Wayback Machine API or made available as a standalone feature.

I believe this enhancement aligns with the Wayback Machine's mission of making archived web content more accessible and usable.

Thank you for considering this suggestion. I would be happy to provide further details or collaborate in exploring how this could be implemented. Please let me know if I can assist in any way.

Best regards,
Mathieu Andro
