on wednesday, patelco posted an update telling customers their money is safe and secure. cybersecurity expert ahmed bonafe says the big question now is whether customers information is safe. hackers, their main goal is to get this information and this is going to do two things for them. number one, they can sell it in the dark web. number two, they can use it. use this information to access other accounts. you know, of connected to the credit union account, which is why bonafe says customers need to be vigilant, monitor your credit, make sure that there is no new accounts opened under your name, and change your passwords on any accounts connected to your patelco account. debbie, who's been a patelco customer since she was a kid, says the ordeal has been extremely stressful and she's frustrated patelco hasn't offered more information about when she can start doing transactions again, especially paying her mortgage. honestly, just in the way they've handled it. i probably am not a, you know, a member moving forward. we don't know all the specifics about this attack, but pro

. >> 809, is the time and patelco credit union is now facing a class action lawsuit over a widespread data breach that locked out customers from gaining full access to their accounts for more than a week. the suit filed by oakland based law firm, coal and accuses patelco of failing to properly secure and safeguard customers. personal information and failing to immediately inform customers about the data breach. the lawsuit says patelco discovered the breach as early as june. 29th but didn't start informing customers until the next day. the lawsuit is seeking a jury trial in this case. patelco hasn't commented on the suit only saying they are completely focused on getting back up and running over the weekend. the credit union did begin processing transactions once again. happening today, santa clara county water officials plan to consider a measure aimed at reducing homeless encampments along county waterways. they say there's been an increase in assaults, vicious dog encounters and fire related events that threaten the safety of valley water staff that work near the water. the ordinan
