we'll check in with silvana. you? my good morning. i'm silvana henao from cnbc. let's start with wall street, which is set for a mixed open after yesterday's sell off, where we saw the nasdaq and the s&p 500 suffer their worst days since 2022, down more than 3% and 2%, respectively. investors dumping mega-cap tech names like alphabet and tesla following their disappointing earnings, as well as other growth stocks such as nvidia, amazon and meta that have posted tremendous gains and led the markets so far this year. now, the s&p seeing its first decline of more than 2% since december of 2022, and traders viewing the recent declines and rotation to other sectors as an overdue correction. and what's still a healthy market now in focus today, data on jobless claims, durable goods and gdp. chipotle says it's trying to avoid having to resort to smaller portions and price increases this year. the burrito chain's second quarter results beating analysts estimates. and that's thanks in part to efforts to speed up service. now, chipotle says people across all income levels

we'll check in with silvana. all morning i'm silvana henao from cnbc. wall street is set for a flat open ahead of a key report on inflation. now the consumer price index. and it's expected to show a slight increase in june. while the annual rate could fall to the lowest level in three years, inflation has remained high. and that was primarily because of the cost of housing. shelter costs are up more than 5% over the past year. now, if the numbers come in line or below forecast, that could further solidify a potential interest rate cut by the federal reserve this fall. the market's rising yesterday with the nasdaq and the s&p 500 closing at record highs again. costco is raising its membership fee for the first time since 2017. the basic gold star membership will go up by $5 to $65 a year, while the executive membership will rise by $10 to $130 a year. the changes go into effect in september and will affect about 52 million members. costco has typically raised membership fees every five years or so, and the company has telegraphed this move for months, sa
