i have to confess -- i have a bit of a warm spot for ymca because my father was a director of a ymca in chicago, so we grew up with the same level of exposure that i know rodney like to apply as the executive director of our ymca in the began an area of the western addition. it is not the largest ymca in san francisco, but it has served thousands and thousands of people, and how it is well used is a real testament to the incredible administration by rodney and his staff, who was able to serve a community that is incredibly diverse. it exists right off very facing japan town out webster, and it exists in what is known as the western addition. but japan town and the fillmore were united before it was installed, in many ways, also of building the steps of redevelopment over the past years. that ymca over the last few years has served as a linchpin and it did it to really help bring together a number of communities from the asia- pacific community and the african-american community to get there. it has really proven to be quite an effective template in showing what foster in collaboratio

urban development services ymca. first of all, let me thank you for your continued interest and support of the truancy assessment and referral center. we have been working since january to come up with a comprehensive strategy and plan and have actually begun to launch a pilot that my colleague, the director of the tarc center, will give you more details about. we have worked collaborative with the school district, the police department, the youth program urban services, ymca, juvenile probation, and the d a's office to develop a pilot that was launched late april through the end of the school year, and we targeted this pilot with two communities that contributed most to the chronic and habitual truant to population, and that was in bayview and the western addition, so with the baby station and the northern station in particular, and we then went out and did a lot of outreach to all the roll calls for both of the stations and talked with police officers. we have done outreach to the community resource centers, with a

this is the 90th anniversary of our richmond district ymca. we have a special proclamation we have provided today. the tremendous staff at the ymca, when i go into the 18th avenue, there is a tiny little parking lot back there, but it is a warm place that allows me to de-stress after difficult board meetings, but also a place to hide out and work the weight room. there is tight she, -- tai chi, pilates, yoga, ballet, and programs from the middle schools as well. 90 years is a tremendous accomplishment. born in 1022 -- 1922 after the influx of families after the earthquake that move out west -- it creates tremendous opportunities for our families in the richmond district. i think the first location was near where the richmond branch library is, close to geary, where the antique -- where the at&t building is. i hope we can expand it to a much better space in the future. there are currently over 4000 members like myself of the richmond district ymca. the programs include youth development and how the living. i really support the healthy families
