the lower manhattan security command center is impressive. this is a place we have tried to get in to see since it opened. there were a lot of really cool high-tech gadgets and security devices in there. that is exactly what we saw. it really looks like a high-tech war room. that is exactly what it is. the main room in there has a 40 ft. wide screen that is 10 feet tall. it is filled with maps. security cameras that are peppered all over lower manhattan. they are fixed in central locations around different areas of new york. we got to see what was going on with that. we heard from the new york police commissioner, announcing $24 million in grants will be poured into this. they will use that money to improve the types of cameras and security networks going on. they will expand the command center to include midtown manhattan. more cameras going in between 30th street and 50th street that will help to protect some of our high volume billings -- high- value buildings. patti ann: what did the police commissioner says it was coming next? >> they ar

what caused these men to do get out on the streets of manhattan? .are hearing that illegal poaching of animals is big business in california, bringing in about $100 million a year. the problem is getting worse. what kind of animals are we talking about being poached? >> we're talking about everything, from fish to bears, mountain lions, you name it. in sacramento, the problem they have is people taking salmon and sturgeon eggs and selling them as far away as alaska. we're talking to a business that several years ago was estimated at $100 million but has increased exponentially. california game wardens have the second-largest jurisdiction in the country but only about 358 officers. they basically have to cover 150,000 square miles of land, along with 200,000 square miles of water. it is quite difficult. and you talk about the poaching problem. they have to fight it out in the wild, but they also have to go to stores and places around the state and do inspections of restaurants, looking for people who have illegally obtained food, in many cases. bill:
