sherrie johnson as we bury detective brian stevenson today.herrie. >> reporter: good morning, jamie. a sad day. friend, family and fellow police officers will gather here this morning at new antioch baptist church in randalltown to say bye to detective brian stevenson. he was killed in canton last weekend after a fight in the parking lot. he was hit in the head with a rock during a fight over a parking space. he was out celebrating his birthday. he would have turned 38 years old a day after that assault. detective stevenson joined the baltimore police department in july of 1992 and was assigned to the district detective unit in the northeastern district. 25-year-old sian james is locked up charged with first-degree murder. james was out of jail on 150,000 dollars bond following his indictment on attempted rape charges involving his ex-girlfriend three months ago. but this morning, he is in jail on murder charges. so once again, the services for the detective stevenson starts at 11 this morning. reporting live from randalstown, sherrie johnson,

sean james threw a piece of concrete at stevenson that struck him in the head.was rushed to bayview medical center where he died. funeral arrangements have been finalized for another police officer. a public viewing will be held for him tomorrow from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the ruck funeral home. the funeral is wednesday. he was killed last week when his car slammed into the rear of a fire truck. he was a nine-year veteran of the force. he was the third member to be killed within a month. >> a 57-year-old woman is killed in an early morning fire in baltimore county. flames broke out sunday morning around 6:30 in the home of a 2900 block of yorkway. three had to be rescued from the second floor. later crews found joanne julian in the basement. the cause of the fire is under investigation. >> former employees at the espn zone are suing walt disney saying they were pwhreupbd-sided when disney closed the bar in june. they plan to file a class action lawsuit claiming disney violated federal law by not giving them enough notice about plans to close. officials say

in fact, on the stevenson side they had to do quite a bit of repair on the facade, a lot had come apart and they had to rebuild that particular facade of the building. the building was rehabilitated shortly thereafter. unfortunately, they rebuilt it using pretty much the same materials so you still have a lot of hollow clay tile partitions there. since then, the building has undergone quite a few changes. here's a picture of the building as it stands today. as you can see at the very top the corners -- the cornerstone has been removed, it was removed in 1952. the ground floor store front was also removed as you can see in some of these pictures here. the ground floor store front was removed replaced with aluminum store front windows and red shingles and some decorative awnings for the retail and signage. also the store front at the very corner of market and seventh, you can see here was stepped back if the actual street facade. the main entry to the building was also altered, it was covered over with stucco. the wood store front was also removed and replaced with an aluminum store front
