i also cannot miss the chance to say this, dr. elliott rappaport, the former dean, who also taught me everything i know about cardiology, which unfortunately, elliot, really is not that much. but we really appreciate the number of years. dr. rapoport is one of those people who stayed six months and may now be up to 35 years. how many years? 49 years. that is the typical san francisco employees. i also want to say we are big believers in the health department, that people need hospitals. hospitals are critical, but hospitals are not where we want people. where we want people is in the community. we want to keep people healthy. we want people seeing their primary-care doctors, whether here or in the community or at the federally qualified health centers, and for the incredibly rich array of community-based services that either keep people out of the hospital or give them a warm place to go. it is now my honor to introduce to you judy guggenheim, the president of the san francisco general hospital foundation. without them, we would ne

i'm very proud to say the i also am -- that i am also a filipino american. i think i might be the first filipino american woman to serve on this commission. that certainly is a constituency that is important to me and what i believe has not had a strong voice in terms of public policy decisions or being involved in the political process. aside from that, i know there are many constituencies in the city, whether african-american, latino, asian, pacific islander -- communities that may not feel they have a representation in a public policy forum. my background as a community organizer and someone who has believed in having that access and bringing people together is going to be something i will bring to this commission, and hopefully, they will keep me accountable and also allow me to listen to all types of issues to be able to come up with the most sound policy decisions that impact their community. supervisor campos: any other questions? just a final question, if i may. is there a specific goal or objective or objectives that you would like to focus on if you

i would also like to say the same to the fagans. when i first got here, then- chief fagan was quite a force to be reckoned with. i remember him coming into the office, and he would just walk in with three or four guys dressed in blue. they knew their stuff. it was amazing. he was incredible. it was a great loss, a personal one and a professional one, so my thoughts and prayers are with him. i also have an in memoriam for ms. dodie rosencrantz. her patronage was felt from the bay area to paris and venice. she died in her home on saturday. mrs. rosen krantz, whose unconventional style charm dignitaries and hipsters alike. she was 91 years old. born georgette macy, she was the widow of john rosencrantz, who died in 2001. ms. rosencrantz' father created a movie chain that became united artists. she was a fixture in san francisco and was known worldwide for her philanthropy, fashion sense, graciousness, and party-hosting prowess. she and her late husband were staunch supporters of the museum in san francisco, and after the 1989 earthquake

i have also served on the advisory committee for over 11 years. basically, i am here representing myself and speaking for the publishing community at large with regards to this new amendment. the only concern that i want to bring with regards to the fines that are going to be imposed on the news rack being seized by non-compliance after a notification is given, it is because of the logistical situation in many areas and locations in the city. there are more racks then would legally fit in one area. many times, when a publisher distributes information out there to correct the violation, after that is done, subsequent publisher distributors come to move the rack that was put in compliance out of compliance. i am proposing that whenever we go out there, we take photographs of the citation been taking care of so that we are not incurring the $250 fee. thank you. supervisor chu: thank you. >> my name is francisco [unintelligible] the clarification given by the dpw was not clear. i would like to go over those issues. number one, if there are so many rack
