i do not live in parkmerced, but i have lived in parkmerced. my father-in-law and mother-in- law were living in san mateo. they moved up from san mateo. i was a freshly minted lieutenant at that time and on my way to korea. i left my wife and son in parkmerced. a couple of months later, our daughter was born in presidio. with a good deal of respect and regard for parkmerced. i have lived in stonestown and on the other side of the campus. i know the area. i have watched the development of the project. i have listened to the reports from time to time terry i think is very important that we renew our housing stock in the city. the projects built with great thought and contribution to the urban environment need to be upgraded from time to time. this plan appears to be the kind of thing that we need in san francisco. i have been around this town for did 50 years before a good 50 years. -- i have been around this town for a good 50 years. i have watched the planning and development. i think it is important to the city to look to the future, think abo

i have lived in parkmerced for 14 years. when i first heard about the proposal, it made me very happy. it is the kind of thing i have been waiting for. moving to san francisco, i was looking forward to a neighborhood where there were a lot of things to do within walking distance. i found that there were none. now there are some. there is one edge of the property. -- they are at one edge of the property. part of the plan has places to go and things to do scattered throughout the neighborhood. it makes it a much more walkable neighborhood. that is one of the reasons the san francisco appeal to me in the first place and would make this neighborhood, parkmerced, a more attractive to live in. there's often a great temptation to drive down the peninsula to one of the suburbs for a lot of the things i would like to do. i would rather stay in my neighborhood. the neighborhood was designed around cars, from what i understand. it was designed to be a neighborhood for cars. we're trying to move away from that. these changes will help t

kind of dissipated on live doppler 7 hd. heading out of the east bay we have some around livermore, dublin into the altamont pass to the sunol grade. a little along the san mateo bridge and that's about it. as far as the best radar returns. go up to the north bay. seeing some, this is more just cloud cover and the humidity hanging in the air but the rainfall amounts are impressive from 1400 to napa to a quarter of an inch in mill valley. concord about the same. south bay that's where the first push of wet weather came through. it's pretty quiet except for stray showers. rainfall amounts here are pretty impressive for south bay standards. a tenth in san jose, nearly a quarter in sunnyvale. cupertino and los gatos about 1200 redwood city. big picture, looking to the west you can see more radar returns developing and that's our next push of weather that could bring us 2 to 4 inches of rain over the weekend. urging residents to be prepared for possible flooding. jenelle wang is live in san carlos to continue our storm coverage.
