the north bay, napa with clear skies 58 degrees.igh pressure positioned itself over the bay area today bringing us the warm north to northeast winds. overnight we will see a wind shift. the high kicks out toward the east and it will add the trough of low pressure to get a little closer to us. the winds will shift around to more onshore cooler wind direction, and that will mean temperatures coast and bay will come down maybe four or five degrees. inland communities, well -- some of you may not feel the cool down at all. but we will shed a few temperatures off your daytime highs. but it is going to be hot inland with temperatures mid to upper 90s. tomorrow night, inland locations, you will have clear skies for all of the fireworks and festivities. the main concern will be right near the coast and the bay. so fisherman's warf, 9:30 tomorrow night, we may introduce along -- a little patchy fog there, but temperature wise as the fireworks get going in the mid to low 60s. here is a look at our highs tomorrow. once again a little bit of a

napa 51. santa rosa 50. not surprised to see upper 40s. haven't dug deep enough yet. a lot of mid-50s everywhere else. it's a little bite to the morning air. also a sea breeze west- southwest. means sacramento's even only forecasting 80 degrees. and by the way, yesterday palm springs was 99. that was a record low maximum temperature. i mean usually they can be this time of year 115, 116. for us plenty of low clouds and fog and also interesting to note that fresno's forecasted high today is a mere 87. and if that does come to fruition, it will be their coolest high going back to 1920. so it's not only cool here, it's cool the entire state of california. fog, sun, breezy, more sun today. a cool to mild but i think we'll see that low cloud deck burn off sooner and definite decrease in some of that drizzle but 50s 60s few mid to upper 70s. inland areas running about 15 degrees below average for many this time of year. we do see not much change. in fact if anything maybe another little system kind of enhances that cooling on friday then levels off saturday. should be sligh

we did have 94 in walnut creek, napa 92. south san jose, 92. those are the hottest spots i can find on the map today. mainly for interior sections. however, it still was warm and above average here throughout the coastline. 74 now still in san francisco. 83 in san mateo. and 93 now in sunnyvale. the temperatures warming up about five to ten degrees today. and as we head throughout tonight, still fog-free conditions, even right up against the coastline. for thursday, drying winds stay in place. it's still going to be hot for us, but we are looking at some weekend changes coming down the pipeline. let's get a look at what helped to ramp up numbers today. it's about the winds. off the coastline, north and west, 15 to 25 miles per hour. when you get winds out of the northwest, it prevents any fog development. the flow, well, it's cut off here. at least from the pacific cooling. so that's why those numbers were able to jump up today. this dome of hot, high pressure continues to push across our forecast area. so for thursday, 90s inland. for friday,

even san rafael only 70 today and mid-70s around fairfield over towards napa. right now 69 degrees in san jose. it is a sweatshirt evening no matter where you are, not just for san francisco where it looks gorgeous, chilly clear skies for the moment, 67 degrees. there you see the west wind at 15 miles per hour. now we did get the low clouds to break up which was a nice end to the weekend for your outdoor plans as some dryer air kind of mix down into the marine layer, breck it up. so we did break out the sunshine. but that is cooler air that is spilling down from the bay area. from areas off to the north, we have a system that is approaching the coast, which is actually tossing some showers out here. you can see them off to the west of eureka. you may see some of these drifts north of ukiah late tomorrow. what the system is going to do is reinforce the ocean sea breeze and the air coming in off the northwest. we just can't warm up in this pattern with this trough hung up across the west coast. on tuesday temperatures start to rise on up. for the meantime, we'll
