i guess i parents effectively at home and i was 14. they said yes because i wanted to be up priest and they didn't want to get in the way of god's calling, so i went to seminary at 14 years old and so there is a story about being there at the seminary. and i of course have a lot of thoughts about the catholic church. as a recovering catholic. so there's a whole bunch of things like this. and i found myself present at a paris incident that took disseminate teen 80s, particular day was only 19 people killed in probably about 120 or so injured from bullet and grenade shrapnel. and i was just coming into the airport to change planes. so i read about what it's like to actually be present at one of these terrorist incidents and live. so the book has a lot of these experiences and stories that are sort of maybe explained how i got to be where i got or why i ended up doing the things they did. and they are interesting and wild and some are funny and some are not so funny. but it began the book in the present and i thought maybe i would read ju

i feared for my safety and i knew i was in danger and understood in order to meet, but -- to live, i have to leave the philippines to jay, where i would feel safe. i hired an attorney to apply for legal asylum. my application was denied, so my attorney filed an appeal to the ninth circuit court, and jay and i requested and a regular basis on theúagr status of the appeal. again and again we were told that it would take a long time before the court gets to my case. i did not know it, but my appeal had also been denied. my attorney never told me. all the while, we thought i was legal in we were waiting for the decision of the court. jay and i went about building our lives together. i gave birth to my two kids. they are the biggest joy in our lives, and i became a full-time mother. our family has always been like every american family, and i am so proud of jay and the twins. the boys attended catholic schools through sixth grade. they excelled in glasses inclasses and have been at the top of their class. i've volunteered at the school when they need someone to pitch in. i am always the f

i feel like i know so much more than before i started campaigning. i am a good liberal democrat.n the san francisco, miniature spectrum, i am considered pretty middle of the road. one thing about me is i am very independent when it comes to the issues, and i do not vote on party lines. i judge each issue on its merit. we have provided woefully inadequate support for our transition-age youth, and when we do not provide that support, we end up causing other problems. it is not like it disappears. these are our youth, who are here in our community, and we need to make sure we are providing services for them. yesterday, we had a hearing on the dcyf budget, and i was very disappointed with one aspect of the budget, particularly the alt and backs were being eliminated -- that all add-backs were being eliminated on a number of different subjects. i do not agree with that. i am in discussions with dcyf, and i am is hopeful we will be able to work something out. my predecessor was always committed to making sure funding occurred, and i will continue to do that, so you have an ally in me.

i was hoping i would not have to say this, but i do. one person is missing from this hearing, a person that is very influential of what is going on in parkmerced. i do not think it is necessary for me to say that person's name. i think everyone knows that person's name. district 7. that is all. i think it is only proper and correct to have that person say what they want to say in regards to parkmerced. a hearing without that input, i think, is a serious deficiency. in the future, that should be addressed. just like in item one, regarding the gift fund at laguna honda hospital. when i keep researching, looking for comments from that person, i find nothing. i think, in a certain sense, that is not doing your job. laguna honda is in your district, so is parkmerced, but we nothing from that person in regard to that. i think you are shortchanging the citizens of san francisco. when you have that much influence on those two important institutions of the city, and you are not present to offer any comment -- because, ideally, you should be sayi
