let's hope we don't have to build a arc for wednesday. this is the weekend to go out to skyline drive. we're looking at about peak color. good color as close as fairfax, gaithersburg and frederick and close to past peak toward oakland and timberline, all of the ski resorts west of the divide, they had their big festival last weekend. 67 right now. pretty nice. some low 60s in frederick and leesberg and manassas. but it is mid-october. satellite picture, radar combined, we have this system in parts of the midwest. that is not the huge system we're watching. it is this system in the gulf of mexico which has tropical characteristics. i don't think it will develop into anything tropical per se but it will race up the atlantic seaboard tuesday and wednesday and that will produce pretty good rains here. mid-week changes, cooler tonight. a light jacket a good idea in the morning. still mild on tuesday. and big rains are possible on wednesday. so for tonight, partly cloudy and cool. winds diminish. lows 46-56 with light winds after midnight. lows
