or somebody like a tony sarah. what are your thoughts on that? you've practiced. you're a law professor. recently retired. you've taught at a number of different schools. any thoughts on that? >> well, yes, i have lots of thoughts on it. i went to harvard law school. and believe me, when i was there, there was no legal aid at all. everybody was become a corporate lawyer. there was no question about it. you didn't even think about it. it would never even dawn on anybody. i don't think that anybody knew that there were defense attorneys. you know? anyway, at its heart that little clip said something, i think, because kingsfield is actually violating the very stuff he's teaching. he's teaching contract law, which is all about reciprocity between people. and there are implicit promises when a law student comes into a classroom. you know? there are implicit promises about respect, about duties, about obligations. kingsfield is violating all of those. so he's not paying attention in the essence of his being to the most important thing that he's doing. does he know a lot

tony knowles, a very well-known democrat. she was then later selected to serve on the alaska supreme court by sarah palin, our very well-known republican governor. under alaska's nonpolitical judicial selection process, she was vetted by the alaska judicial council before her selection to the superior court in 2001 and once again prior to standing for retention election in 2004. and justice christen was then vetted for yet a third time before her selection to the alaska supreme court in 2009. and in each case, in each case she secured high marks from alaska's very diverse legal community. in fact, she was ranked the top candidate for the supreme court position in a scientifically conducted study of alaskan attorneys. i have appreciated justice christen. she has been mindful of the separation of powers throughout her judicial career and mindful of the fact that her personal views have no bearing when it's time to determine the rule of law. i know that we can expect her to continue in that vein when she moves on to the federal bench. morgan christen was educated at the university of washington and golden gate university school
