look at some of those as well as providing high-quality services and promoting green, -- green, sustainable city. and investing in our communities and people. these were some of the key policies and strategies that you had and we would be happy to continue that if you would like for us to. in addition, we're also considering items with the level of service that you deliberated on, the reliability of systems, for the health and safety and susceptibility of resources, affordability and the adoption of the benefits policies that you have done. last but not least is the revenue generation, because bills have to be paid on time, with water revenues. you ask us each year, to come back before you and update you on if we apply these to the 10- year financial plan and the rate projections, and the capacity -- the next two slides do that for you, for each of the enterprises. the first is the water enterprise. you heard about this in the quarterly report, with lower retail by about $6 million, and the lower wholesale collection. we continue to maintain the five-year adopted retail rate plan, and we work wi

[applause] >> thank you, tom, and thank you, mayors, for having me here this afternoon. as you can probably guess, this is a very important event for siemens. this conference is about an issue that we've all been thinking about a lot for the last several years, how do we create jobs, and how do we create a lasting and vibrant economic recovery. it's also worth recognizing that recent numbers suggest that the u.s. economy may be coming back a little. i think last month we added about 200,000 jobs. i think we have a long way to go, but i'm optimistic, more optimistic than i was a few months ago. i think it's also, we should note that the strength of our economy a lot of the recovery, i think, is due to the manufacturing sector which is what i'd like to talk a little bit about today. in fact, manufacturing employment grew by about 136,000 jobs last year which, amazingly, is the first time that we've had jobs growth

independent musicians have a hard time in the booking aspect, in making enough money to be sustainable here in the city, and i would see myself in a role tha tcould -- that could liase between artists and the community. i feel like we are in a time where the industry is changing so much. my company has gone from a distribution company to a marketing company and in that way i interact with press all the time and social media. i bring i feel all level of youth to this. the reason i am successful in my day job is because i am an artist, i am involved in creation. that said, san francisco has a vibrant entertainment scene. it continues to grow, it continues to bring people to the city. i believe that there are a lot of ways that this commission can positively impact the scene as it is now. i would say one of the first things i would bring to the table ideally would be the way to book local and by that, i mean to have venue owners to have successful venues whether they be corporately owned or independently owned. book artists on weekends to open up for established artists with the hope of growing those arti

integration of diverse populations and affordability and quality of life issues in cities and regions and also -- and sustainability, in which encompasses a broad range of things. it's primarily environmental sustainability. the overarching theme which i think is particularly pertinent here in the bay area is regional governance and cooperation where we try to emphasize move each of our cities that they really need to figure out in their broader economic region, not just within their city limits. so how do you coordinate with the communities around you to advance some of these policy issues, whether it's transportation, environmental improvements, economic development, education systems, workforce training, etc. these are some of the issues that we really want to publicize the best practices so that practitioners such as ourselves can bring these ideas back home and really move an issue forward. i think here in the bay area, bringing this group of four european experts here has really been an interesting exercise for me, not knowing the city of oakland very much at all, having been to san francisco a few times, but

we wanted to be as clean and sustainable as possible and for the city to be able to enjoy the your own while it is going on. -- to enjoy their own city while it is going on. thank you very much. >> i represent the south beach yacht club. we support the certification of the environmental impact report and an immediate vote this weekend. we have concerns about traffic, increased cost, difficulty parking, and those sorts of things. we believe the amount of review and the comments and responses have been well done. our members and neighbors have followed along closely, and we are satisfied with how that process has taken place. we believe it is appropriate to service via -- to certify the report tonight and focus on details of implementation, and that is where we are at now, and we are happy to assist with that. a key consideration is water access and how to increase the for the city. not for us it means a events that we do for us it means the events that are not racists -- for us it means of vans that are not -- events that are not races. we have seen interest among sailors, and if we can

city leaders credit a sustained focus on repeat violent offenders and increased community engagement for the continued drop in murders. also new this morning, baltimore city detectives are handling an investigation into an overnight shooting in southeast baltimore. the shots were fired just before 10:00 last night in the 500 block of north elwood street. no word on the identity or condition of the victim this morning. in harford county, authorities say two stabbings occurred within half an hour of each other may have a common connection. both attacks happened in the edgewood area along the 1700 block of meadowwood court between 10:30 and 11:00 cast night. investigators tell 11 news, in each case the victims report they were walking in the area and got involved in some type of fight. one of the victims had to undergo surgery, but is in stable condition. >> there's still no word this morning as to what may have sparked a three-alarm blaze that left 14 people homeless. one firefighter was injured while battling the flames, which broke out around 6:45 sunday morning on south bouldin stree
