out west in the foothills 35 inches of snow and it's still coming down. been a lot of problems in the eastern plains with winds closing roads and highways and making life really tough on truckers. in terms of the airport, projected 600 flights canceled in the denver area. that's causing problems for people trying to get out of town. we talked to people trying to get to the super bowl in indianapolis. that's not happening now. we talked to people who have weddings here this weekend. they've had to adjust their plan because people can't get into denver. schools are canceled throughout the entire area. so it's been quite the event here, february in denver actually not one of the snowiest months we have here. so when we're talking about 12, 14, even 17 inches in the downtown area, as i said, would put us at one of the snowiest months of february and that's just with a 24 hour window. so the problems continue for us. this is supposed to go on into saturday morning. so quite the prolonged event, a lot of adjustments going on in terms of travel and school and we

big snowstorm lifting out of the plains measured in feet up in the basically foothills of colorado and then back out to the east into the plains, of. kansas is getting some. nebraska -- plains. kansas is getting some. nebraska is getting the bulk of it. i think they probably have 24 inches of snow closer to the mountains, higher elevations. severe weather down here in texas tonight. there's the zoom with the snowstorm. here are the thunderstorms moving through texas, oklahoma into arkansas. a few reports of hail mostly getting wind reports with these storms and there's been one report today down into texas where they ended up with a tornado. so not a big prolific severe weathermaker tonight. that's good news. we're still dry now. clouds will spread in overnight tonight. it is 40 here in town, 45 for cincinnati, little rock 61. that's why they're getting the severe weather there, in denver right now 27 degrees, but still i mean the real cold air is well up into canada. maybe by the middle part of this month it will make a run for us and bring us some more cold stuff, but i don't see it
