i'm jon kelley. time to check in now with meteorologist christina loren to find out just how good this wednesday's going to be. >> it is not too cold. cool is the key word this morning, as temperatures are right now in the 50s. it is nice and clear. taking a live look at the golden gate bridge. at this time yesterday we had a lot of fog creeping in over the bridge but this morning, nice and clear and that nice clear start off the bat will bring our temperatures toward near record levels yet again today and tomorrow. then things change. we'll talk about what that means for the upcoming weekend. let's get you out that door. >> we're working for highway 24 and those folks because they are going to get to work. still one lane, your left lane is blocked at pleasant hill road. an earlier hit and run accident leaves this car over there and it still may be block being the lane off the walnut creek interchange, though no major slowing yet. the other side of the bay, you still have the power outage affecting s

. >> i'm jon kelley. a map drawn by a convicted killer will lead to a massive grave investigation. they are checking it out. more than a thousand human bones and the search continues. investigators are still digging up the land at an abandoned cattle ranch in linden. bob redell joins us with more on the gruesome search. good morning, bob. >> reporter: good morning, john and marla. we are here where deputies wrapped up a news conference in the past hour to let us know in spite of some rain last night, they have been able to resume the search for more human remains in the town of linden, several miles outside of stockton. you can see access to the site still blocked off by deputies. over the past few hours, we're told, an ex-ka va tore dug deeper into an old well located on the property. right now, they're sifting through piles of dirt to see if they can find any more remains of the people deputies believe were murdered by wesley shermantine and loren herzog during the speed freak killing spree of the 1980s and 1990s. shermantine led investigators here after herzog committed suicide.

i'm jon kelley. one of those stories you hate to start the day with. san jose police on the scene of a deadry crash on highway 101 and capitol expressway. >> bob redell is live at the scene with the latest. it looks like a horrific scene. >> reporter: it is. good morning to you. survivors of this accident who were not taken to the hospital, you can see them in the foreground there hugging each other. they are still on the scene. friends and family have also been arriving as they just watched the fire department finish the horrific task of removing the body of one of their friends, a man who had been stuck under the vehicle they had all been riding in. there were eight people, i don't know if you see the vehicle there, a chevy trail blazer, it was possibly returning from a weekend get away. none of them wearing seat belts. around 4:45 this morning, as they were exiting northbound 101, they lost control on the off ramp to eastbound capitol expressway. >> it's a combination of going too fast and a wet roadway which just the momentum of the vehicle, it car
