yesterday it was focused on central kansas back through oklahoma where we had more than 100 reports of stadse tornadoes. a lot of long tracking tornadoes as well. now you can see the storm system shifting east where a line of storms is bearing down on oklahoma city as well. this is the main threat for severe weather through these hours. it will shift through the north. the big concern is you just got all the ingredients you need for this outbreak. you have the warm and humid air from the east. in between is that clashing air for storms to become violent. we have the turning of the winds with the height in the atmosphere. so you have the winds out of the south in the low levels. as you go up in the atmosphere, they change to be more southwest. it is that turning that you get that allows the rotation of the storm, allows for the violent tornadoes to form. here's a look at the severe risk today. it has been extending along the entire length of storm, upper michigan down to texas. but it is the zone in the red that is the extreme high risk of tornadoes today. from iowa to wisconsin. that's
