we've seen a lot of storms roll through, kentucky, southern portions of west virginia, tennessee. so far the rainfall hasn't made it over the mountains but we're beginning to add to our temperature today and as we start to heat up, then you start to destabilize and that will give us the opportunity later on today. right now it's not so bad. we are already at 80 degrees. that's an update this hour for reagan national airport. i'm expecting our highs should hover right around 85 degrees. we have to keep our forecast down a couple of degrees this afternoon from the original because these clouds are not breaking whatsoever since the early morning hours. we'll continue to say mostly cloudy through midday, late afternoon. by about the 3:00 or 4:00 hour, most of us will start to see some storms moving on in in our area. the good news is we are in a code green for our air quality alert. we scoured out some of that mugginess or i should say the oppressive heat we had over the last couple of days but with these storms, we do have some danger of that flooding coming on through. that's why we
