good morning, everybody, i'm jon kelly. we should be learn morgue about the string of crimes.jonathan wilbanks of san jose. they say he and a second suspect went on a crime spree friday night allegedly robbing four businesses within two hours. after those robberies, police say the two shot a man at a 7-eleven and tried to carjack him. that man ended up dying at that scene. san jose police were able to arrest wilbanks during a shootout with officers. the second suspect did get away. >> anybody who's willing to take part in four armed robberies and shooting at police officer, basically trying to kill one of our cops, is as dangerous as it gets administrator wilbanks was hit during the shootout and one of the police officers suffered minor injuries. police will hold a press conference at city hall along with mayor chuck reed and other city officials to update this investigation. >>> right now let's check things outside. >> we've got something to be thankful for around here, jon kelley. we've got rain on the way but it will subside by turkey day. 66 in fremont at that and 66 in re

jon, good morning. actually it's the same woman who launched the initial fbi investigation that led to the resignation of general david petraeus. she is jill kelly. apparently she has exchanged 20,000 to 30,000 e-mails, at least that many pages of e-mails with general john allen. john allen replaced general petraeus in afghanistan. now, these e-mails have been discovered and are under investigation by the inspector general at the pentagon. what was their relationship? we do not know. that question was not answered by senior defense officials. but they do say that allen denies any inappropriateness, any wrongdoing. interestingly he was already in town for a confirmation hearing that was previously scheduled for thursday. they were moving him from afghanistan to europe to oversee our forces there. that requires senate confirmation. he was here preparing for that. now according to the defense secretary who made the initial announcement early this morning about this new investigation, that confirmation is on hold. he keeps his job until they have some evidence that there was any wrong doing, which of course he denies. until the investigation has cle

jon, good morning. to be clear action never was general david petraeus under investigation, rather a close friend of his, a woman who has been identified overnight as jill kellyparked the fbi investigation. officials say kelly complained she was receiving harassing e-mails from biographer paula wra broadwell. the nature of those e-mails has not been disclosed. it was during this investigation that fbi agents discovered e-mails between broadwell and petraeus they say were indicative of an extramarital affair, which led to general petraeus' resignation on friday. petraeus has not commented on this affair to the media, but over the weekend he spoke to his former spokesperson. >> he said he had an excellent job, an exceptional family. he had had a great relationship he thought with the white house. and in his words, he screwed up. he knows it. >> reporter: now his resignation comes the week before he was scheduled to testify before congress about what led to the attack at the u.s. consulate in benghazi that killed four americans. he was scheduled to testify this coming thursday, but he will be replaced by the deputy director of the cia. senator dianne feinstein,
