i want to thank hud. i mean, hud can be harsh, but they can also be a great partner when you get them on your side. and our d.c. office as well as our san francisco office, the hud officials are to be praised for supporting this vision. because hope sf came out of the hope 6 projects. and this was naturally led -- they started these projects as early as areas in portland and seattle and chicago. and we looked -- we sent our staffs out there and we felt that promise was may rebut what i did back here. this is a great vision and something that i will be glad to not only engage in and support enthusiastically. we have dcyf, maria sue is here and she's got all of the great training programs. along with our director of work force housing. i saw rhonda simmons and her team. we've got a lot of different agencies engaged in here so that nobody sees us as just the physical part of the buildings going up. we've got lives. these kids want to be here. they see this as their long-term place. they're part of a community

thank you everybody. i made myself cry again just watching it, but thank kqmd and as i said in the video here it was really hard for me to accept this because i don't think myself and martha did convincing and remember there is always somebody watching. somebody young or old is watching and we have to carry ourselves in a good way because maybe somebody wants to be like us one day. i thank my co-workers for coming. i gave this little speech a couple weeks ago and broke down crying and i said two weeks ago those are my heroes. anybody that can choose to work in health care servicing the people you guys are my heroes. shirley is my hero. she is servicing people and i think that is my message. anybody that chooses to serve people you're awesome. you're all my heroes, and i think i just want to leave a quick little word of what a uncle told me this year is "what -- actually "what is hard is told us to go out everyday and live a beautiful life" and i think if we can do that it's a good world. it's a good thing.

so i want to thank supervisor chiu. i want it it thank him for his leadership and the leadership of our constant street leadership. they get a little economic bump. that was the year of the dragon that we wanted to do something bold. the year of the serpent is like the mini dragon. it is there to also continue that great experience, but also make sure that we're safe for everyone. and so i want to register that we're going to do this again beginning this saturday. it will go for a couple of weeks before the actual start of chinese new year's, which is february 10th, but that leading up to it, all the merchants and in particular the small businesss along stockton street will get that economic bump as we work with chinatown youth center and all the wonderful non-profits that keep everybody safe on our sidewalks and have that positive experience. this is a great time for the city to celebrate. of course we'll be there from february 10th leading up to the great parade that we have that invites thousands of people here. i kno
