we nominated our senior painter, jeff nicole. he was with the city program 15 years ago, he basically ran it since it started. he ran it for 10 years by himself all over our city. and, so, just through all that he's never changed his dedication. he doesn't take shortcuts, repaint and color match and do all public and private property in our city. so, just his dedication in our program has made a huge difference in our city. we appreciate it. jeff raise us a tv producer, that is ahead in the media minute. stocks every 15 minutes, nicolee stock exchange continuing to watch apple which continues to sit below $400 a share. nicole: so many people love apple, love the technology, love all their products and yet this is a stock over $700 and right now at $3.94, a couple things to know. we start with what is that over this period of time. this is the yearly, all you see is green and red. 2003 it was green, 49%, 201%, 123%. in 2007 you got 133%. all these years over the last since 2003 were green arrows and even last year and gain of 31%. apple shareholders had a nice run. just with jason wiseburg, this is a great buy at this level. and a back up the truck and buy a lot of that. the interesting part is they have things coming out, new iphones, the watch, really out of favor with wall street. cheryl: jason back of the truck and loaded up the stock. thank you. dennis: call this a tax game. at least for car dealers. car sales hitting their highest monthly total since august of 2007. the extra cash from tax refunds could be a re

, jeff, paulson fund from the commodities trade, a direct result of why you see copper, aluminum, major commodities trading under pressure. liz: gentlemen, you're adorable, but we have to get to nicole better looking than i am. >> down there at the new york stock exchange with a battle with martha stewart and macy's heating up with jcpenney. >> the home goods products, we talk about commodities, that seems to be the hottest commodity of all, at least in the moment. we're bringing you right over here to the macy's post. macy's right now up 1.1%, but the deal is that macy's and jcpenney have been battling it out. macy's thought they had exclusive rights to martha stewart's products to have jcpenney say, oh, no, we signed with a deal with stewart for home goods. they went to court, battled it out, and the judge said, you know what? you work this out in mediation. guess how that went? not too well. as a result, they are back in court again battling it out for the exclusive rights, and so you have two companies, macy's new annual high, the up arrow there, and jcpenney the winner. liz: we'll take the whole team, 3 p.m. editorial team to a jcpenney and do some real boots on the ground rese

nicole. disappointing retail sales numbers out this morning for march showing the biggest fall since last june. joining us from chicago to break down the numbers. oh, my god. jeffeconomy in march in terms of retail sales. take a look at the specifics, the main street tape, what was down. gas station spending doejçr that was kind of a good thing because gas prices were lower. electronic spending down. department store spending down, sporting goods, music, books, that kind of a thing. for a new startup, giftbar. what do you do? >> learn online gift card marketplace. on-demand gift cards. jeff: you have been seeing an uptick. a shop in the north side of chicago if you look on the floor you see a lot of dogs. you have been seeing an uptick, do you have reason to be worried about this economy? >> not at all. we talk a lot of them, they see sales go up. a unique product they have to offer makes it an experience as well. jeff: take a look at some of those retail sales. take a look at the retail stocks kind of mixed today, that reflects it, sort of mixed feeling about this. the numbers bounce around from month to month. something of a trend or not. and this is your dog
