i'm jon scott in for shepard smith. there are many layers to this case and now we have a clearer picture of which aspect could come up during the trial. today the judge ruled attorneys cannot bring up the teen's marijuana use, his suspensions from school or any reports of previous fights in which he got involved. remember, just last week the defense released dozens of photos from the teen's cell phone. they appear to show a gun and the teenager blowing smoke. defense attorneys says those photos and text messages could help show the teen's state of mind before the shooting. spokesperson for the family says travon martin is not on trial. remember, george zimmerman faces second degree murder charges y x with last year's shooting. zimmerman says he pulled the trigger in self-defense citing florida's stand your ground law. also today the defense asked to push back the start of the trial. >> we're not going to be ready and we are going to need several weeks to a couple months' delay to make sure that the experts are lined up,
