this is a world-class city. and because it is, we require a world-class police department.nd by golly, with chief suhr and the commission, we have it with you, the men and women of the police department. and i can vouch with this, having hatraveled as mayor brow and witnessing all the other cities and what they are going through. there extreme jealousy of our city. we get the best people that live here and work here and a part of this great teamwork we are building in san francisco. and not just what we are presently doing. but building for the future. and in working for the chief and the police officers association. we have already established a six-year hiring plan. many cities across the country haven't figured out how to do that. we have did so. this january i was so proud to see 43 additional officers graduate from the police academy. how long ago have we seen that happen. we are investing in you, the police department. because we know that if we have a successful police department, one that is growing, and one that incurs faith and confidence from residents and friend

this is in fact a beacon for our arts community, for a world class city and it has the ability to attract some $50 million of contributions to our economic vitality a huge base of fans that will visit our city. there is going to be 150 million visitors, i think it's going to be $97 million contribution to our committee already scaled by our travel association. so part of it is economics, but i actual, without even having those numbers in front of me knew that this was going to excite us. i actually know that when we unveil this tonight, the feeling that i'm going to be having, is we just won another world series because it's going to bring that kind of excitement into city. and to have this timed in a way in which we have just finished the 75th anniversary of the celebration of the bay bridge, we have opened the auditorium and on our bay for the first time we have just finished the world series and the 55 sealing on our bay is a celebration for san francisco and this incredible rebounds that this city is experiencing can really only be complimented by the arts, because allows the arts to

we have an opportunity to put a world-class arena brown where we can go to events right in the heart of the city and i know with the 49ers kicking off there's a great opportunity to take something on the pier like there's nothing there right now and make it a world-class venue. so, yeah i'm a thousand percent behind this project just wanted to showing you

san francisco is a world class city that deserves a world class venue. for the past month our members have been working on in project assembling the stage and bleachers. it will continue to provide jobs not only for our members, but for workers in the hospitality, catering, and transportation industry. two weeks ago the city of san francisco live nation hosted a job fair to seek ushers, ticket takers, and event staff where over 200 participants attended. on behalf of the theatrical stage employees, we oppose this appeal and support the america's cup pavilion project. thank you. >> do you know any other units, bargaining units, unions that are going to be providing labor for this -- the rest of these events? >>> i do not know. i represent the theatrical stagehands and we have a collective bargaining agreement with live nation. >> okay, thank you. >> i've got a question as well. i see in the briefs that local 16, part of the agreement was that you were going to have people at the sound board and, so, can you aloe elaborate more and explain how that works?
