i am in a quandry on being on the same side of the chamber of commerce jim, and i am usually never agreeing with the chamber. but, this legislation really bothers me. and it is called the family friendly workplace, legislation and that bothers me to come out against it. and we are a family, friendly workplace because every person that we hire and talk to and work with, and there is a lot of young people and a lot of single mothers, we know their schedule and they have the right to ask, because we are comfortable with our employees. we have 65 employees. and that should not change it by 65 employees or if i have five employees. that relationship needs to be there. they do have the right to ask and they do. i have every weekly news schedule i probably have three schedule requests i want to do this, i got to school change i have got a doctor's appointment and we meet them all but everyone has to be flexible if you get a time off to do something that you have to do you need to help the next person who needs the time off to help them get what they want to do. so, this legislation just takes and

i am [inaudible] montez and i am 21 years old. i live in bay view and hunter's point and currently working with turf and the [inaudible] force and part of [inaudible]. as you know there are over 1,000 tobacco outlets in san francisco and a huge problem we're faisessing. living in the bay view has exposed me to the bay view everyday. i remember walking home and stores on the corner and many times there were people smoking outside and exposed to secondhand smoking and as a result i got asthma. another issue was healthy food and it was an issue for my parents to offer me fresh fruits and vegetables everyday and my parent his to drive across town to get the food and it's helped me make a positive healthy change to the community and this policy has given me the opportunity as a young person to buy healthy foods and lower tobacco support as well. thank you. >> thank you. next speaker. >> hi. good afternoon supervisors. i am tammy wong and a tenderloin resident and leader with the coalition. i am here today to support having a more healt

good evening, i am sorry that i am late. i'm karin and i am the co-founder and executive director of the (inaudible) institute for civil rights and education here in san francisco and our mission is to advance civil and human rights through education. and this is quite an honor to be here this evening. and you know just briefly, my father was born in oakland, california. and fred coramatzo thought of himself as an american citizen and that what motivated him to take a stand against the military orders that were issued during world war ii that forced removed 120,000 of japanese ancestry from the west coast. he worked on redress after his conviction was over turned in 1983 after it was found in the government's own files that the incarceration was of not military necessity and that there was government misconduct. and he worked on the redress and ref rations movement that led to the civil rights act of 1988 and then my father's mission became education. he crisscrossed this nation so that the lessons of history would not be fo
