a man is dead after a shooting that began with a traffic dispute around 10:00 yesterday morning at tully and center roads. police say the driver of a pickup and a silver volkswagen jetta pulled over and the pickup driver was shot after he got out of the vehicle. two men in the jetta took off still at large. the pickup driver died of his injuries at a hospital last night. >>> we have developing news from the east bay where a major hospital is probably going to close soon. a parcel tax that would have kept doctors medical center open failed to pass yesterday. that means the hospital in san pablo will run out of cash and likely shut down by july. the hospital sees 45,000 patients a year mostly low income residents from richmond, san pablo, and martinez. >> people will not only die, the adjacent communities will suffer a lot because they would not be able to take on the onslaught of the sick people going to them. >> this hospital has been able to pull a rabbit out of a hat many times. it looks like we may have no more rabbits to pull out. >> the county may look into taking the hospital over.

there's been a pattern of attacks on the family who live on sandpoint drive in east san jose near tully and quimby. we have some surveillance video for you to see. it shows the arsonist creeping up on the car while trying to hide amongst the trees. he is wearing a hoodie, it's dark and he thinks nobody can see him but he is on a camera equipped with night vision. the arsonist empties a whole bottle of lighter fluid on the windshield of the homeowner's car and uses an aerosol can and lighter to start the blaze. it takes 25 minutes for the car to be engulfed. the fire department got here around 2:30 put it out before it spread to the house. >> just think about what you do and [ indiscernible ] compassionate or feeling, uhm, think about, you know, our family's safety. >> they could have burned down your house. >> they could. and you know, we got him on camera and hopefully, san jose pd, uhm, will do their job. >> reporter: and that is the homeowner vince tran making an appeal to whoever did this to stop and warning them that, yes, they were caught on camera. this is not the first time the

. >>> i'm kiet do live in east san jose at the scene of an arson fire near tully and quimby on sandpointat 2:30 this morning, arsonist set two cars on fire. you can see it almost set the house on fire. there is minor damage to the garage. we have surveillance video of the whole thing showing an arsonist creeping up on the car while trying to hide among the trees. he leans over wearing a hoodie, it's dark, thinking nobody can see him but he is on camera equipped with night vision. he dumps a bottle of lighter fluid on the windshield of the homeowner's car and uses an aerosol can and lighter to start the blaze. it takes that minutes for the car to be fundamentally engulfed. the -- it takes 25 minutes for the carton fully engulfed and the fire department put it out. this is not the first time that the family has been hit. they were burglarized back in november and had some incidents of tire puncturing and paint dumped on vince tran's car so he got surveillance cameras. this is a crime scene. san jose police think they know who did it. live in east san jose, kiet do, kpix 5. >>> and checking
