good morning to you, kris. first of all, i want to stress that in marin county, investigators say they are not searching for any suspects, that there's no reason for neighbors to believe that they are in any danger. and that this seems to be an isolated incident. you can see here on carlot, a circle that they are still here on scene. i will say that our chopper was over the scene earlier this morning, and while we will not show you those images, we can tell you we saw images of a man with what appeared to be a firearm between his legs. around 7:30 last night, deputies responded to a 911 call from the residents at 151 carlot circle saying a family member was down in the backyard. when deputies arrived, it was determined the man was already dead. he had been shot at least one. investigators went door to door and found that a next-door house had an open side gate and they found another man dead in that yard. we spoke with a neighbor this morning who said she heard something yesterday amp, but thought to herself, i

kris sanchez live. protesters say the clean up not welcomed, good morning, kris. >> reporter: good morning, yeah the protesters say it's going to affect the services they can provide to the homeless who call the jungle home, but at the same time, the city says they're not going into the jungle, what they're focussed on is cleaning the banks on the other side of coyote creek. still the protesters showed up yesterday saying that what they are trying to do is help the homeless and anything that happens down there along the banks of coyote creek is going to impact their access to the people who live down there. just last month, san jose police arrested six people through the encampment who had outstanding warrants. there are an estimated 200 people who call the jungle home who have nowhere aels to go. so many people and the services like water or sewage. there have been problems with things like human waste and rats. and also fires that were started by campfires or cooking stoves. still homeless advocates s

. >> "today in the bay's" kris sanchez joins us live with the latest developments, and kris, what can you tell us? >> reporter: we can tell you, we've been curious about that, because of the patient confidentiality laws, we don't know about who the sacramento patient or why he or she was considered at risk for irnfection of ebola, but we know after 70 blood samples, that patient has been negative for the virus. good news coming late last night at kaiser. the doctors talked about guidelines that they developed by the centers of disease control and prevention. that's how they assess the risk for that patient. those include recent travel to affected areas and symptoms that crop up within three weeks of a return home. now whiem the hospital cannot reanymore about that patient's condition, that person is not only, not the only one who got a clean bill of health where ebola is concerned. >> there are still no confirmed ebola cases in california. there are no suspect patients with known high risk exposure in california. in hospitals anywhere in california and the risk of the spread e of ebol

. >> and i'm kris sanchez. the plane was headed from oregon when it tried to make an emergency landing in novato. it ended up crashing 15 miles west of the airport. bob redell has more details on that investigation and the tragedy. good morning, bob. >> reporter: kris and sam, marin county sheriff and fire believe they know who the man was who was flying that single engine beechcraft bonanza. the actual aircraft seen right near a file photo that was posted online, but they won't release his name until they have made a positive identification. they would not confirm if the man killed in this crash is the same man out of redwood city who is listed a t the aircraft's owner. a lieutenant tells us it appears the plane exploded on impact. as you can see here in this still image taken from the crash site. the plane went down north of novato, west of petaluma. it caused about 40 acres of that remote wildland to catch fire. the pilot was en route from brookings, oregon, to san carlos on the peninsula. when around 9:30,

i'm kris sanchez. >> and i'm sam brock. the man fell off the industrial parkway overpass on to southbound interstate 880 in hayward early this morning. he was then hit by a truck and died. the death caused traffic to be backed up for miles during the morning commute. nbc bay area's stephanie chuang has new details on the investigation, live in hayward. and stephanie, is there a criminal investigation underway here? >> reporter: it's a possibility. and that's what police here in hayward are taking a look at here. good morning, sam, to you and to kris. this is the industrial overpass where it all began before 5:00 this morning. a man only described as in his late 20s was here, but somehow he ended up in the far right lane of southbound 880 here in hayward. the question for investigators now is, was there someone else here on the overpass with him and was there foul play? the chp got reports of a body laying o ing oing on the roadwa5 this morning. the driver of a big rig felt a vibration and pulled over. traffic control office

good morning to you, kris. where the tree fell in the northeast neighborhood, we just understand now that the streets may still be closed off there. so quite an impact. but the same muni crews had quite a long morning, starting at midnight, when the first problem happened here. a power outage at the junction, which led to many frustrated riders and it didn't stop here for muni's problems this morning. just an hour or two later, and the impacts of this fallen tree in the northeast neighborhood may have been a lot bigger. thankfully, it fell on columbus street at 5:30 in the morning. no car beneath it, no people around. it did, however, take down part of the muni line. they cut off the power before the city's department of public works crew chopped the tree up to take it away. than began the work to get that muni line back up. >> you can see they're working as fast as they can to get this done as soon as possible. >> it was the same crew that worked to repair the major problem that plagued muni this morning. a pe

. >> kris sanchez joins us now.ris the proposal includes a call for host families. >> reporter: yeah, we're going to hear more about that plan at 8:00 this morning, laura. leaders of the catholic charities of santa clara county and will urge leaders to come up with a plan to take on the children who are in detention centers right now in southern california and in texas. the charity wants to urge the supervisors to move forward with their plan to help. the county executive jeff smith has already had his staff researching the feasibility of housing some of the children in private homes such as foster children are. last month, congresswoman of san jose asked the county board to figure out a way to help. several board members already seemed to be on board with that host family model. now for catholic charities of santa clara county. this is not a new concept. for 30 years, its been a resettlement program for which it provides, housing, education, and other assistances to help resettle refugees. as for the host program.

sam and kris, and with the 3.9 coming in.t is the strongest aftershock we've had so far after the initial quake. after that initial 6.0. according to the usgs, we are not out of the woods yet. for the next seven days, on the west napa fault an adjacent fault, we have the chance far 5.0 magnitude or larger. every day we spasz good because it means we get out of the woods. this should dwindle down to about 10% overnight and even more so as we head throughout the next couple of days. then our focus shifts to the chance for 3.0 and above aftershocks. two to 15 likely throughout the next seven days. we're still going to seem the earth around that west napa fault shaking. we're not done just yet. when it comes to your forecast, the good news is for that clean up effort happening up in napa. we're going to get some nice weather, at least for the first part of the day. it'll be warm out there later on. so the earlier you can get out there, the better off you will be if you are paar taking. i want to show you what's happening though,

"today in the bay's" kris sanchez joins us now, and kris, the family of one of the workers opening up about her experience this morning. >> reporter: she didn't to want speak for herself, but nancy writebol's sons said that the miracle serum that helped to save their mother's life was key, but mostly they say she credits her faith and the care she got from her doctors. more on that in adjust moment. first doctors at a south sacramento hospital say the tests for the ebola at their, with their patient all came back negative. that good news came in a late night press conference at kaiser permanente south sacramento. doctors followed the guidelines for the disease control and prevention in isolating the patient. because of patient confidentiality laws, they can't reveal more about the patient's condition only to say there is no risk now. now california's public health director at the same press conference said that there are no cases of ebola in california and no suspect patients with high risk exposure. back to nancy writebol whose sons told matt laur she was eager to leave and be with h
