at 5:00. >>> abc7 news obtained new surveillance video of a shooting that left a security guard deadside of a san jose liquor store. he's being called a hero for saving his co-worker's life. we're joined live now with the story. david? >> reporter: friends and co-workers say there was no reason to shoot and kill him over a few boxes of those flavored cigars. look closely at the video we obtained. the suspects are still at large. these are the moments leading up to the death of the security guard manny zaniga. one buys a bottle of cognac. then they all leave. about a minute later one man returns and grabs a display case of swishers but trips and falls as he runs outside. the security guard doesn't realize they were stolen and reached to help to pick up the goods. that's when he was shot and killed. there's still a bullet hole in the window from one of the five shots fired. >> i heard he passed away. i cried. >> reporter: there appears to be trouble brewing next door, the restaurant where they were employed as security guards. as they gathered to mourn his death, a reliable source said
