this ordinance differently and we're finding this as large numbers of group housing and market rate sro projects are suddenly coming from approvals to the planning commission in this heated housing market. these types of projects are not often viewed as viable construction previously but now smaller units and market rate sro units are seen as viable units. as this comes forward we want to ensure that the market rate developers are also part of the solution and building more affordable units and that planning is interpreting our ordinance not based solely on the number of units that a project have but based on the board's definition of what is housing, so this legislation does reiterate the original intent that the board had always intended and that group housing participate in building affordable housing units along with the other market rate developers and require the planning department and bring clarity to the planning department to mandate inclusionary housing in this category. i think as we see more of these projects pop up in the city it's important that we catch them and ensure t
