in the afternoon when it was extremely hot in antioch. it took off so fast by the time was over, approximately 540 acres were burned. initially the contra costa county fire protection came out, but they reelized this was going to be a handful, which is why they called other fire departments including cal fire, they did air drops, and late last night, they were able to get the upper hand on this, and that's great, because they did all of the heavy lifting when the sin came down, when it was cooler or less windy. of course many homes had to be evacuated. approximately 100 homes, those people were told to get out for their safety. and then late last night, they were able to return. we caught up with them, and here is what they had to say about the fire danger. >> it was a lot of machinery, be a lot of equipment, a loft technology involved in fighting the fire, and the guy with the helicopter with the bag of water, i mean, he was going back and forth from -- petaluma is right over the hill. >> i was frantic, concerned about our whole neighbor
