elise finch here with that. it felt like a real winter day for a change. >> we haven't had many of those since winter officially began but we definitely started off the new year with a day that felt like winter. still, not the coldest new year's day. that's for sure. taking a live look outside, where it's cold, it's breezy, 38 degrees right now. of course, feeling a little bit colder though with the winds. 12 miles an hour gusting to 18 miles an hour. 42 degrees. that was the high temperature on the day. we hit that shortly after 1 a.m. normally we would be at 39. 39 is the average for new year's day. the record 62. so we are looking at the warmest new year's day of course 62 degrees, colders 4 below zero. clearly we were nowhere near that. the wettest 1888, two inches of rain just over. anded snowiest, 186 the -- and the no it's, 1869, 9" of snow. we have seen flurries but not measurable. so your temperature trend goes like this. pair of 48s to end 2015. a pair of 42s to ring in 2016. it was our high today. we
