meteorologist bill henley joins us with the first alert forecast. >> good luck with shoveling this morning. things are frozen solid from the pocono mound tos to the jersey shore. fortunately we will get some help. they're making snow this morning in the pocono mountains and everybody is seeing the cold. temperatures from philadelphia to south jersey, some of the coldest temperatures in the entire region. toms river dropped into the single digits. lock at lancaster and allentown. pottstown, very cold to start with. everything is frozen solid this morning. we will see bright sunshine. temperatures will be climbing. in fact, pretty good warmup. 19 degrees at 7:00, a few scattered clouds will be dry during the day. the other thing helping us out, the wind will be staying light. a 4 mile-an-hour breeze at 7:00. by 10:00, a light wind continues. with sunshine, we'll see thawing even before we hit temperatures above freezing and that happens at 1:00 this afternoon. 33 degrees. i think we'll warm into the upper 30s this afternoon. we'll see more melting this afternoon than we saw yesterday. this m

nbc 10 first alert meteorologist bill henley is here with the answer. sounds pretty good, bill. >> actually, it's a really nice day and turnaround from this morning when parts of the area were in the single digits. blue sky, few thin scattered clouds. not a lot of wind today. that allowed temperatures to get cold overnight, but during the day that's going to allow for a pretty quick warmup. in fact, we're already at 38 degrees in philadelphia. the wind at 6 miles an hour and will stay below 10 miles an hour during the day. most of the area calm to start now just a light breeze blowing in wilmington and trenton, at the shore, 3 miles an hour at wildwood. sunshine. and the temperatures will keep climbing as we go through the afternoon. 1:00 today, 40 degrees, just a 6 miles an hour wind at 4:00. that's when we'll start to see some scattered clouds coming in. 42 degrees. once the sun is down it's going to be a quick cooldown to 36 by 7:00 this evening. clouds will be increasing tonight. and there may be some snowflakes before we get to the weekend, lauren.
