>>reporter: shirleen, good morning. he is here at bellevue hospital this morning undergoing psychiatric evaluation. family members tell police he illness, but law enforcement officers say they have no record of that. take a look at this video from yesterday. in it you can see 41-year-old kerry baysmore led away from the 13th precinct. he was wearing a white jumpsuit provided by police. investigators took his clothing which they say held evidence of the chelsea slashing. police say surveillance video shows baysmore slashing a woman's face before running away. a man who saw the video on tv later recognized the man in that red jacket which then led to an arrest. 24-year-old amanda morris was morning when her face was slashed. baysmore now faces charges in that chelsea attack, but he has now been i.d.ed in a new year's day attack in the bronx. if you recall in that situation, a woman was slashed with a razor blade and needed 150 stitches. police say he may be linked to other attacks as well. now, that man has been arrested
