kron-4's charles clifford joins us live now from hayward. chuck what do we know about the failed test? >> reporter:just before 2pm friday, one of bart's brand new train cars overshot the end of a section of test track in hayward by several feet and crashed into a dirt pile. this is video of the accident from our helicopter partnership with abc 7. the accident apparently occurred while bart train operators were being familiarized with the new train system and the new train cars. it's unknown if the accident was the result of human error or some type of mechinal problem. bart says that at the time of the accident the train was only travelling between 5 and 10 miles per hour and that no one was injured. it's unclear exactly how many people were on board at the time or if the train suffered any damage. after the accident the car was still partially on the tracks and maintenance crews were able to pull it off the dirt pile. each of bart's new train cars costs about 2 million dollars. the first one was delivered earlier this month. bart hopes to h

kron 4's charles clifford has details. standup >> reporter:here in brentwood, the police department says they have arrested a 19-year-old oakley man for allegedly sexually assaulting a young child here at the word of life christian fellowship church. vo the suspect in this case, ladell smith, is facing multiple felony counts of child molestation and sexual assault. he is accused of attacking a minor under 10 years of age in a bathroom at this church back on april 2nd. after the alleged assault smith fled the scene but was arrested a short distance away by the brentood police department. thursday afternoon, i spoke with the pastor of the church. he declined to go on camera but says that the ladell smith had been attending services for several month and that the church was working with him as he prepared to exit the foster care system. the pastor also says that church's congregation is very community focused and that they are stunned by what has happened. smith meanwhile remains in custody and is being held on 2.2 million do

kron 4 news. >> vicki : we have an update to a story we first brought to you last night. a man missing since monday has been found dead in san francisco. police say michael shaffer was last seen in san mateo where he lives. this picture had been circulating since he was reported missing by his family early in the week. they said he had a medical condition and may have been without his medication. information on where shaffer was found in san francisco has not been released. police have not yet told us how he died. san leandro police say they need the public's help. finding a group of vandal's that have been using bb guns to shoot cars, buildings , and now people the shooter's behavior escalated on march 24th and march 25th , when they began taking aim at civilians. over a dozen people have been shot at , none of which have had serious injuries. >>:this is a safe neighborhood, but i hope they can find the people >> vicki : in a effort to find the suspects , police have increased patrols in the area. since the beef up in authorites, no additional incidents involving bb guns
