good morning. >> reporter: good morning, brian. we are here in the park in south san jose, and every year, the residents here put on an illegal fireworks show. well, officers knew about that. the last night, officers camped out to 11:00 last night to make sure that wouldn't happen. but there was still plenty of illegal fireworks going off in various neighborhoods throughout san jose. and the city, the police department, and the fire department, were going from call to call. this year, the police department had special enforcement teams, and they went to the most serious call, they were ready to find people -- and the fines are higher in the city of san jose. from $500 to $1,000. now here is the breakdown of how it all went. they did go 29 calls. 12 citations issued. they had two seizures of fireworks, illegal fireworks. there was a tree that caught fire. and two people were sent to the hospital. to get more information, about that, we go to lieutenant chris monahan with the san jose police department. and pretty serious injuries. t
